Job Description

Sodexo is a global leader in quality of life services, providing innovative food service, facilities management, and integrated solutions to a variety of sectors including education, healthcare, corporate, and government. With a commitment to improving the quality of life for the communities it serves, Sodexo partners with organizations worldwide to deliver exceptional customer experiences and sustainable business outcomes. Their expertise in managing food and nutrition programs is well-recognized, particularly in K-12 educational settings where nutrition plays a critical role in student well-being and academic success.

At Naugatuck Public Schools in Naugatuck, CT, Sodexo is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager 4 to lead and manage the district's comprehensive food service programs. The school district encompasses a diverse student body of over 4,000 students served across multiple educational sites, including an early childhood center, elementary, intermediate, middle, and high schools, along with a robust adult education program. This broad scope of operations makes the role of General Manager vital to the daily functioning and success of the district's nutrition offerings.

As the General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all USDA-compliant breakfast and lunch programs, ensuring that every student receives nutritious, high-quality meals that contribute to their health and educational performance. This role requires a strategic leader with a passion for customer service, wellness, and community impact, who can drive service excellence and maintain strict compliance with all regulatory standards.

The position involves managing a sizable team of approximately 50 hourly employees, and union experience is preferred to effectively oversee labor relations and promote a positive work environment. The General Manager will play a crucial role in fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce, strengthening client relationships, and aligning food service goals with the needs of the Naugatuck school community.

In addition to operational oversight, this role demands strong financial acumen to meet company and client financial targets, including budget management and contract compliance. The General Manager is expected to integrate fully within the client’s organization, acting as a trusted advisor with a focus on customer service and operational excellence.

Sodexo offers a comprehensive compensation package that is fair and equitable, factoring in education, experience, and relevant skills. Candidates can expect an annual incentive program along with a benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision care, wellness programs, a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, paid time off, company holidays, tuition reimbursement, and career growth opportunities.

Joining Sodexo at Naugatuck Public Schools means becoming part of a mission-driven team that values fairness, respect, and diversity. Employees are encouraged to bring their authentic selves to work, share ideas, and contribute to a culture of inclusion and continuous improvement. Sodexo is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and fostering a workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered to succeed.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about leadership in school nutrition services who want to make a tangible difference in the lives of students and staff every day. If you have the experience, skills, and dedication to excellence, Sodexo invites you to apply and join a company that truly cares about its people and the communities it serves.
