Job Description

Einstein Bros. Bagels is a well-established and beloved bagel bakery chain renowned for its commitment to delivering fresh, high-quality bagels and exceptional customer service since its inception in 1995. The company emphasizes not just making the best breakfast in the neighborhood but also fostering joy, happiness, and a sense of community through its offerings and environment. Operating numerous locations across the country, Einstein Bros. Bagels has built a reputation for its welcoming atmosphere, dedication to customer satisfaction, and commitment to employee work-life balance. The company's innovative approach to baking fresh bagels daily ensures customers always enjoy a delightful, fresh product. With store hours limited from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., Einstein Bros. Bagels prioritizes a healthy work-life balance for employees, allowing them to take part in important family moments and personal events, a unique characteristic in the restaurant industry.

The role of General Manager at Einstein Bros. Bagels is a dynamic and challenging position that requires a hands-on leader passionate about operational excellence and team development. This role entails full oversight of store operations under a "treat it like you own it" philosophy. The General Manager's day starts early, often as early as 4 a.m., to supervise the first bake, open the store, and maintain an audit-ready status throughout the day. Responsibilities include managing in-store, mobile, and catering orders, supervising the team during peak hours, and ensuring the best customer experiences. The General Manager actively participates in the daily operations by floating between positions, monitoring breaks, and pushing for high customer satisfaction survey results. The position also involves handling administrative tasks such as scheduling, ordering inventory, managing deposits, and preparing the store for the next day after closing at 2 p.m.

Candidates are provided with five weeks of comprehensive training to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage both the operational and administrative facets of the store efficiently. Ideal candidates typically have one to three years of prior experience as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager within the restaurant industry, with a proven track record of managing P&L responsibilities, achieving food cost and labor targets, and motivating a team. Recruiting and developing quality team members is a key function, fostering internal growth and team engagement. The role offers a competitive salary range of $57,000 to $60,000, along with an attainable quarterly bonus, reflecting the company's commitment to recognizing performance and dedication.

The company extends a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, health savings and flexible spending accounts, disability and life insurance, and a 401(k) plan with a company match. Notably, the General Manager role involves no evening or night shifts, with store hours tailored for an optimal work-life balance. Paid time off is generous, with employees accruing 180 hours in the first year. Einstein Bros. Bagels also provides additional perks such as pet insurance, tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance, employee discounts on popular services, and a robust Employee Assistance Program for employees and their families. Located in Lavon, Texas, the physical demands of the job involve standing, sitting, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently throughout the workday, which can be accommodated as needed. Einstein Bros. Bagels values equal employment opportunity, encouraging diversity and fair treatment in the workplace, and bases employment decisions solely on candidates' qualifications and merit.
