The Geneva School District 304 is a dynamic educational community serving ten schools within a 23-square-mile area, including a high school, two middle schools, six elementary schools, and a preschool. This district values innovation, community engagement, and student-centered programming, making it an ideal setting for a motivated and creative food service leader. Sodexo is currently seeking a General Manager 3 to spearhead the food service program within this district. This senior leadership role entails full operational responsibility for the nutrition services across all district schools. The General Manager 3 will ensure excellence in food quality, customer service, team engagement, financial management, and compliance with health and safety standards.

As the onsite Sodexo senior leader, the General Manager 3 will be entrusted with hiring, training, mentoring, and developing a skilled team committed to providing an outstanding and inclusive dining experience for students. The role involves strategic menu planning and programming aimed at promoting student excitement and community involvement through special events and innovative offerings. Financial and administrative leadership are paramount, including management of payroll, forecasting, cash controls, and contract compliance to maintain operational efficiency and fiscal health.

Ideal candidates will come with a background in colleges, universities, independent schools, or other robust off-program environments, bringing fresh and innovative ideas to the K-12 setting. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities paired with excellent communication and organizational skills. Additionally, a vehicle and valid driver’s license are required to facilitate district-wide oversight.

Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree or higher in relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years management experience
  • At least 4 years of relevant school nutrition program experience
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to manage financial and administrative duties
  • Commitment to safety and sanitation compliance
  • Flexibility to handle multiple priorities and additional responsibilities

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, business, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years management experience
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in relevant school nutrition programs
  • Demonstrated strong employee engagement and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
  • Culinary production experience with strong safety and sanitation compliance knowledge
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing responsibilities
  • Passion for fostering a positive, student-focused dining culture
  • Experience from colleges, universities, independent schools, or off-program sectors preferred

Job Duties

  • Oversee full operational and contract management for nutrition services across 10 district schools including high school, middle schools, elementary schools, and preschool
  • Hire, train, mentor, and develop a team to deliver an outstanding student dining experience
  • Lead strategic planning for menus, programming, and special events to increase student engagement and community involvement
  • Manage financial and administrative responsibilities including payroll, forecasting, and cash controls
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with district partners and stakeholders to ensure high customer satisfaction and a collaborative partnership
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and vehicle to support district-wide operations
