Job Description

Sodexo is a global leader in quality of life services, dedicated to improving the daily experiences of individuals and communities worldwide. With a strong commitment to economic, social, and environmental progress, Sodexo provides a wide range of integrated solutions including food service, catering, facilities management, and more. The company prides itself on fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment where employees feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute meaningfully. Sodexo's core mission centers around creating a better everyday for everyone, ensuring that clients and customers receive exceptional service while employees thrive in a supportive and engaging workplace setting.

At Sodexo's McLaren Oakland facility in Pontiac, Michigan, the General Manager 3 - Food position plays a critical leadership role within the food and nutrition department. This full-time managerial role focuses on overseeing day-to-day food service operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality food services across retail, catering, and patient meal management. The General Manager leads subordinate managers, supervisors, and frontline staff, fostering a positive and productive team culture that aligns with Sodexo's standards and values. The position demands a strong foundation in food service management, including culinary production experience, safety and sanitation compliance, and the ability to achieve financial targets and company goals.

The General Manager acts as the primary liaison between Sodexo and its clients, engaging effectively with C-suite executives and other key stakeholders to develop and maintain strong client and customer relationships. Strategic planning, regulatory compliance including HACCP standards, and customer satisfaction—especially through direct interaction with patients and clinical teams—are central to this role. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional communication skills, professionalism, and passion for customer service. Adaptability, multitasking, and leadership in driving employee engagement and success are equally important to ensure that the food and nutrition team delivers value in every aspect of their operation.

This role offers competitive compensation based on individual education, experience, skills, and training. Employees benefit from a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision care, wellness programs, 401(k) with matching contributions, paid time off, company holidays, and opportunities for career growth and tuition reimbursement. Sodexo is committed to equal employment opportunities and embraces diversity and inclusion as key values, providing a workplace where all employees can thrive. More detailed information about benefits and job specifics is provided upon hire, focusing on supporting employee success both professionally and personally.
