Job Description

This job opportunity is offered at a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee, licensed to use McDonald’s logos and food products but separate from McDonald’s USA. This franchisee operates their restaurant as a distinct business entity and is the direct employer, responsible for all employment decisions including hiring, firing, staffing, scheduling, and employee discipline. McDonald’s USA does not influence or control these employment matters nor does it have access to your application or hiring process. This distinction should be understood by all applicants as they pursue this career opportunity.

The franchisee-owned restaurant offers a vibrant working environment inspired by one of the world’s most recognized fast-food brands. The role on offer is that of a General Manager, a key leadership position vital to the smooth and profitable operation of the restaurant. The General Manager is responsible for maintaining high standards aligned with McDonald’s criteria for quality, service, and cleanliness—standards that define the guest experience and the restaurant’s reputation.

In this leadership role, the General Manager works closely with senior leaders to establish measurable goals for the restaurant and then leads the team to achieve them. This includes overseeing a team of Department Managers, lending support, coaching, and guidance to maximize the performance of each department. A critical function of the role involves fostering talent development by hiring and mentoring Department and Shift Managers. The General Manager must ensure a fully capable leadership team is in place to sustain long-term success.

The position demands a dynamic individual capable of managing multiple operational aspects simultaneously. From managing sales trends and profit margins to supervising staff and vendor relations, the role requires a strong business acumen paired with effective people management skills. The General Manager also handles operational responsibilities such as conducting audits, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, managing inventory, and preparing for visits from regulatory bodies.

This career not only comes with the challenge and responsibility of running a busy restaurant but also includes excellent opportunities for personal and professional growth. The franchisee supports its leaders by offering comprehensive benefits including education assistance programs like Archways to Opportunity, which provides pathways to earn a High School degree, college tuition aid, and English language classes. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are also part of the benefits package, along with a 401K retirement plan, paid time off, and service awards recognizing dedicated team members.

Salary for this General Manager position ranges from $50,000 to $70,000, reflecting competitive compensation commensurate with experience and responsibilities. The role is ideal for candidates with prior general management experience in high-volume quick-service restaurants or those with a background in hospitality or retail sectors. Candidates must be at least 18 years old to qualify for this managerial position, consistent with McDonald’s corporate policies.

Joining this team means becoming part of a workplace culture that promotes development, achievement, and a shared commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. The General Manager is expected to contribute actively to the growth of the restaurant while cultivating a positive and energized staff environment. This role is perfect for individuals eager to advance their career in restaurant management while making a tangible impact in their community and workplace.
