Job Description
BKC is a leading restaurant brand dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences through quality food, friendly service, and vibrant community engagement. As a well-established player in the quick-service restaurant industry, BKC emphasizes profitability, operational excellence, and team development to maintain its reputation and growth. The company operates numerous restaurant locations and is committed to fostering an inclusive, team-oriented environment where employees can thrive and advance their careers. BKC values both its customers and employees, focusing on innovative approaches that enhance guest satisfaction and overall business performance.
The Restaurant General Manager (RGM) role at BKC is a pivotal executive leadership position responsible for the day-to-day management of a single restaurant location. Reporting to the District Manager, the RGM oversees a team typically consisting of an Assistant Manager, Hourly Shift Coordinators, and 20-45 Team Members. This leadership role demands a comprehensive approach that balances operational management, financial oversight, and human resource development to drive profitability and maintain high standards of guest service.
In this role, the RGM carries full accountability for the restaurant's profit and loss (P&L) outcomes. Their responsibilities include actively managing key financial metrics to enhance restaurant profitability, through strategies such as labor cost management, inventory control, and sales growth initiatives. The RGM is charged with driving sales by fostering a proactive guest service culture and ensuring efficient day-to-day operations.
Guest satisfaction is at the forefront of the RGM’s duties. This includes motivating and directing the restaurant team to provide accurate, friendly, and timely service in a clean, welcoming environment. The RGM handles guest feedback through systematic problem-solving to identify root causes of concerns and develop actionable improvement plans. Additionally, the role involves community engagement and executing local marketing campaigns to attract new customers and build strong connections in the area.
The people management component is critical, as the RGM leads recruitment, selection, and onboarding of restaurant team members. Training programs and certification processes are managed closely to ensure staff competence and growth. The RGM also fosters a positive work environment by implementing individual and team recognition programs and delivering coaching and constructive feedback to elevate overall team performance.
Operational excellence requires the RGM to manage staffing schedules robustly to optimize labor costs and ensure adequate coverage during peak business periods. Compliance with all government regulations, employment laws, and company policies is rigorously enforced. Furthermore, the RGM ensures the restaurant consistently meets brand operational standards and steps in to fulfill duties of assistant managers or shift coordinators as necessary.
This full-time leadership role requires availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, with the flexibility to accommodate long or irregular shifts to support the restaurant’s continuous operations. Successful candidates typically hold a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for some college education, and possess 1 to 2 years of restaurant management experience. Demonstrated skills in financial management, leadership, guest service, and team development are essential for success in this dynamic role at BKC.
