Job Description
This job opportunity is with a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee authorized to use McDonald's logos and food products. It's important to note that the franchisee is a separate entity from McDonald's USA, acting as the sole employer responsible for all workplace decisions including hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling. McDonald's USA does not influence these employment decisions nor does it receive copies of employment applications. The franchisee operates the restaurant independently and manages all aspects related to employee relations and operations.
The core of this position is the role of General Manager at this McDonald's franchise. The General Manager bears the critical responsibility of running a profitable restaurant while upholding McDonald's high standards of quality, service, and cleanliness. This is a significant leadership role that demands a strong commitment to operational excellence, staff development, and business growth. The General Manager collaborates closely with their own leadership to set and execute restaurant goals, consistently monitoring progress through performance metrics and team input.
Leading a team of Department Managers is a central element of the General Manager's duties. This requires effective coaching, mentoring, and providing direction to ensure that each department meets its objectives and contributes to the restaurant's overall success. The role involves not only guiding current staff but also hiring and developing future leaders including Department and Shift Managers. The focus on building a strong, motivated, and well-trained team creates a dynamic work environment where employees can thrive and contribute to the restaurant's mission.
The General Manager will engage directly with daily operational aspects such as sales analysis, customer service enhancements, health department compliance, and inventory management. They are tasked with optimizing sales and profitability by identifying trends and opportunities, implementing promotional programs, and managing vendor relationships. This role requires attention to detail like performing cash and security audits, completing inventories, and scheduling all management activities in alignment with corporate and local business needs.
Additionally, the General Manager plays an active role in maintaining a positive workplace culture centered on energy, purpose, teamwork, and continuous improvement. They work alongside staff to create a fun and productive atmosphere, reducing turnover by fostering employee engagement and satisfaction. Staying current with industry standards and training is imperative, including participating in company meetings, webinars, and leveraging continuous learning platforms such as Fred, Hamburger University, and OTP.
This position offers competitive compensation ranging from $50,000 to $70,000 annually and comes with a robust benefits package. Employees enjoy access to McDonald's Archways to Opportunity educational programs, medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401K retirement plans, paid time off, and recognition through service awards. These benefits support the personal and professional growth of employees, reinforcing McDonald's commitment to a rewarding career path.
This is an exceptional career opportunity for an experienced General Manager or someone with a background in high-volume quick-service restaurants, hospitality, or retail who is eager to lead a team and drive business success. The role demands a minimum age of 18 years and a passion for excellence in customer service and team leadership. If you are ready to make a move to a management position where your efforts are valued and your growth supported, this position could be the right fit.
