Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in restaurant management or similar leadership role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Basic financial management skills including budgeting and forecasting
  • Availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand and move around for extended periods
  • Capability to handle unexpected staffing changes and workload fluctuations

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a restaurant general manager or similar role
  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations and profitability metrics
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with inventory control, ordering and supply chain management
  • Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and reporting software
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Commitment to delivering superior customer service
  • Ability to work under pressure and resolve conflicts effectively

Job Duties

  • Manage all areas to achieve positive and consistent sales growth while meeting or exceeding company goals in all profit and loss categories
  • Manage entire operation of restaurant during scheduled shifts, including daily decision making, consistent staff support, positive and consistent guest interaction, proper scheduling and planning while upholding standards, consistent excellent product quality and maintaining high levels of cleanliness and sanitation
  • Provide employees with consistent and appropriate feedback to facilitate their development and enhance the overall operation
  • Ensure all employees adhere to company uniform standards
  • Perform line checks in the galley throughout the shift to ensure proper specifications on weights, temperatures, cleanliness and organization
  • Ensure the unit is properly staffed for all time periods to guarantee overall guest satisfaction and increase sales
  • Interview, hire, and train the highest quality hourly candidates
  • Conduct orientations and follow up with IHOP's training program for new employees
  • Prepare daily reports including sales, cash interims, labor controls and other processes to ensure control of company assets
  • Prepare food production checklists and ensure proper implementation of all company recipes
  • Order food, small wares, uniforms and other necessary products to unit par levels to maintain operational standards
  • Identify operational opportunities and create and implement plans to address them
  • Approve and sign all food or beverage discounts
  • Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce risk of injury
  • Immediately notify the Area Supervisor in case of guest or employee accidents
  • Ensure security procedures are in place to protect employees, guests and company assets
  • Keep immediate supervisor informed of all unit issues and take prompt corrective action as needed
  • Complete responsibilities and performance objectives in accordance with company policies
  • Always project a favorable image of IHOP to promote its goals and objectives
  • Perform all duties as required or requested
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays and unpredictable hours
  • Willingness to work at any local units or relocate if necessary
