The Recreation General Manager role at Guest Services is a vital leadership position responsible for overseeing all operational facets of the recreation unit. This includes management of dock maintenance, boat slips, equipment, rentals, and property to meet financial targets and company objectives. The manager leads the team to provide exceptional customer service, maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and operational efficiency.

This position requires a proactive leader who can cultivate a motivated team environment by instilling accountability and driving performance. The Recreation General Manager plans and supervises daily operations including labor, sales, and profit forecasting to achieve budget compliance. They recruit, train, schedule, and supervise the unit's staff and management, ensuring a professional and customer-focused team.

Additionally, the role involves maintaining accurate accounting records, managing profit and loss statements, and ensuring secure cash control procedures. Critical to the position is resolving customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism, maintaining the company’s esteemed reputation. The manager is also responsible for facility upkeep including docks and grounds, implementing preventive maintenance programs for infrastructure and equipment, scheduling boats and vessels, managing slip leasing, and enforcing risk management programs.

Physical presence at the job site is essential as the role demands frequent mobility, outdoor work in various weather conditions, and handling equipment and physical tasks of moderate to heavy lifting. The Recreation General Manager is expected to have strong communication skills, administrative capabilities, and demonstrated problem-solving abilities to effectively balance multiple priorities within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of management experience
  • boating and/or marine related experience
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • ability to organize marina programs
  • excellent communication skills
  • physical ability to perform job duties including lifting up to 50 lbs
  • ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • ability to stand all day and move frequently
  • ability to maintain confidentiality

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
