Rooted deeply in the values of compassion and excellence, Springwood Hospitality operates within the competitive hospitality industry with a focus on delivering memorable guest experiences while maximizing operational success. They embody the Springwood Essentials and lead with heart in every interaction, setting themselves apart as an employer and operator within the hotel sector.
This employment opportunity is for the position of General Manager within one of Springwood Hospitality's select service hotel properties. The role is integral in managing the daily operations and overall performance of the hotel, including its food and beverage outlets, by working closely with the Director of Sales to ensure revenue maximization and profit optimization. The General Manager leads a diverse team, ensuring that every associate practices the company’s core value of leading with heart when interacting with guests. This leadership role also requires maintaining high standards of operational efficiency, training, financial management, and communication across departments.
The General Manager will be responsible for cultivating a professional and cohesive team atmosphere by hiring, training, coaching, counseling, and developing qualified individuals. They will focus on promoting positive morale and a friendly, welcoming environment. Part of the role also involves continuous review and updating of training practices to keep associates aligned with company policies and industry standards. Financial acumen is important, as the General Manager will develop and execute aggressive financial goals, manage budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure revenue growth particularly in the food and beverage operations.
Administrative duties are a fundamental component of this role and include managing schedules, payroll, inventories, orders, daily reports, and controlling accounting processes within the hotel. The incumbent will ensure all equipment is maintained properly and any issues are addressed promptly to maintain service standards. Communication via internal platforms such as Quore, Drive, email, and Workvivo is essential to coordinate activities and document important information. Furthermore, adherence to the Associate Handbook and all company policies is mandatory, along with maintaining necessary certifications and training in areas such as Food and Beverage safety, CPR, and regulatory compliance.
Beyond operational duties, the General Manager is encouraged to maintain a presence in the community through business and charitable engagement, reflecting Springwood Hospitality’s commitment to using its position to foster positive change. Candidate qualities sought include a strong commitment to the company’s mission, abilities to inspire and engage teams even during challenging situations, and a combination of creative and strategic thinking skills. Candidates should demonstrate a growth mindset, willingness to innovate, and an unwavering dedication to continuous improvement.
This role demands a seasoned professional with at least five years of supervisory experience managing teams of 15 or more associates, and a minimum of two years managing select service properties with bar or restaurant operations. Knowledge of Marriott and Hilton brand standards is critical to ensure alignment with their operational expectations and guest service quality. Springwood Hospitality offers a competitive salary and benefits package including paid time off, travel discounts, medical, dental, vision, mental health benefits, and a 401(k) plan with matching contributions starting one month after hire. This is an excellent opportunity for motivated hospitality leaders who wish to work in a values-driven company that champions both team success and individual growth.
