The role of General Manager at Transdev in Modesto, CA is a pivotal leadership position responsible for managing all aspects of transportation contract services. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $140,000 to $155,000 annually, complemented by an attractive benefits package that includes 401(k) with company contributions, medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off and vacation. The General Manager acts as the primary driver of operational success, overseeing departments such as safety, training, maintenance, administrative functions, and information systems.

This position demands hands-on leadership to initiate, develop, and maintain successful contract relationships with clients, while ensuring full compliance with local, state, and federal laws including EPA, OSHA, DOT, ADA, and EEOC regulations. The General Manager is responsible for maintaining the integrity of company and contractual assets, which include vehicles, facilities, inventories, tools, and equipment. They develop and monitor budgets and forecasts, and implement action plans aimed at improving operational efficiencies and ensuring services remain within budget. By analyzing resource needs, potential problems, and trends, the General Manager plans ahead to meet organizational goals and customer satisfaction. A key element of the role is fostering a safe working environment and promoting effective communication channels with customers and all levels of personnel. Leadership responsibilities extend to building company bench strength through employee development and establishing training goals and requirements for all staff. The General Manager also ensures that reporting requirements for clients, corporate headquarters, and contracts are met on time and with accuracy.

Ideal candidates will bring 3-5 years of recent and relevant experience managing paratransit and fixed-route services, along with a working knowledge of collective bargaining agreements. The candidate should be a self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision and adapting to flexible or shift-based schedules.
