Job Description

Firehouse Subs is a renowned restaurant chain with a strong commitment to serving hearty and flavorful food, heartfelt service, and supporting public safety. Founded in 1994 in Jacksonville, Florida by brothers and former firefighters Chris Sorensen and Robin Sorensen, the brand reflects the values and passion of its founders. It is built on a culture of quality, dedication, and community involvement, with each franchise independently owned and operated by passionate franchisees. Firehouse Subs not only offers hot and hearty submarine sandwiches piled high with premium meats and cheeses but also prioritizes community support through the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which donates to local public safety organizations. Rank-based consumer data recognizes Firehouse Subs as a top brand for supporting local community activities, reinforcing its position as a socially responsible business with significant community impact.

This particular opportunity is for the role of a Restaurant Manager responsible for the overall profitable operation of a Firehouse Subs restaurant. Reporting directly to the Owner or Franchisee, this managerial position demands thorough adherence to all company policies, local, state, and federal regulations including health codes, labor laws, ADA, OSHA, and employment standards. The Restaurant Manager leads the restaurant team by fostering a motivating, cheerful, and fun work environment that embraces Firehouse Subs' core culture, beliefs, and values. The role is integral to ensuring superior guest service, product quality, and maintaining cleanliness standards across the establishment.

Key responsibilities also include managing financial aspects such as food cost control, labor management, utilities, and sales growth within established guidelines. The manager must implement company initiatives and operational game plans efficiently and profitably. Staffing is a critical component of this role, where the manager is tasked with recruiting qualified employees, conducting continuous training and development of assistant managers and shift supervisors, and maintaining a trained and capable workforce. Community engagement and local marketing activities are also encouraged to maximize public relations and business growth.

The role requires physical stamina, including the ability to stand for long shifts of up to 13 hours and the capability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed. Additional duties may be assigned by the Owner, reflecting the dynamic nature of managing a busy restaurant environment.

This position offers a competitive salary range from $35,000 to $55,000 per year depending on experience and qualifications, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Benefits include health insurance, flexible working hours, potential retirement options, paid time off including vacation and sick days, career growth opportunities within the store, and company-provided training programs designed to enhance skills and support career advancement.

Overall, working as a Restaurant Manager at Firehouse Subs means joining a team that values food quality, community involvement, safety, and an exceptional guest experience. This is a chance to lead a thriving franchise restaurant with the backing of an esteemed national brand dedicated to making a positive impact in its local communities while achieving business success.
