The role of General Manager at Ascent Hospitality is a critical leadership position responsible for managing daily hotel operations to ensure outstanding guest service and financial profitability. This role oversees all hotel functions including budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, and performance management through balanced scorecards. The General Manager acts as the primary liaison between the hotel, its owners, and corporate entities, ensuring communication and operational alignment. Key areas of responsibility include managing revenue streams from rooms, housekeeping, food and beverage, engineering, and other departments to optimize profitability while maintaining strong working relationships across teams. Additional responsibilities involve developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies, participating actively in sales discussions and community affairs, and enforcing brand standards to maintain operational quality and guest satisfaction.

This position demands a hands-on leadership approach, emphasizing employee motivation, development, and retention while ensuring compliance with franchise and company procedures. The General Manager leads initiatives to safeguard hotel assets, promote preventative maintenance, and maintain a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff. The role requires active participation in daily operations through team huddles, leadership meetings, performance appraisals, and implementing disciplinary measures as needed. The General Manager is also tasked with reducing accidents, minimizing worker's compensation and unemployment claims, and maintaining a professional image at all times.

Ascent Hospitality offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, and life insurance, a 401k plan with employer match, paid time off, uniforms for most positions, and a team member hotel discount program. This ensures a supportive and rewarding work environment that values employee well-being and growth. The role also requires proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a valid driver’s license for client interactions.
