Job Description
This job opportunity is offered by an independent franchisee operating a McDonald’s restaurant. Unlike corporate-owned McDonald’s locations, this franchisee operates as a separate business entity licensed to use McDonald’s trademarks, logos, and food products. Therefore, the franchisee is the actual employer responsible for all employment matters such as hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling. McDonald’s USA itself holds no sway over these matters and will not be involved in your application, interview, or hiring process.
The position available is for a General Manager in a high-volume quick service restaurant environment. This role is pivotal in leading the restaurant to deliver superior quality, service, and cleanliness, all core standards upheld by McDonald’s. As General Manager, you will be accountable for the overall profitability and operational success of the restaurant, working closely with leadership to set and achieve ambitious goals. This person not only runs the business on a day-to-day basis but also cultivates a team of Department Managers and Shift Managers to execute these goals effectively.
The restaurant itself offers a dynamic and fast-paced work environment that values energy, purpose, leadership, and collaboration. It is a place where employees have the opportunity to build their careers with the backing of generous benefits and advancement opportunities. The culture encourages personal growth including continuing education and skill development, making this an ideal role for those aspiring to elevate their professional journey within the hospitality industry.
Key responsibilities include managing restaurant operations, developing managers, coaching teams, and driving results through continuous performance improvements. The General Manager will also play an essential role in recruiting and nurturing management talent to ensure the restaurant is well-prepared for future success.
Candidates should bring previous experience in managing high-volume locations, preferably within the quick service restaurant sector or related fields like hospitality or retail. Being aged 18 or older is a requisite for managerial roles in corporate-owned establishments, although franchisee rules may vary slightly.
Beyond competitive salary compensation, this General Manager position provides exceptional employee benefits. These include a substantial paid vacation (15-25 days), paid holidays, sabbatical leave available every ten years, and anniversary bonuses. The role supports ongoing education through the Archways to Opportunity program offering high school completion, college tuition assistance, and English language classes. Comprehensive health coverage is also available covering medical, dental, and vision care, along with flexible spending accounts for pre-tax savings. Additional protections like short- and long-term disability as well as life and accident insurance further enhance the benefits package.
Paid leaves of absence, recognition awards, employee resource connections, adoption assistance, and charitable gift matching programs round out an impressive selection of perks designed to support both personal and professional well-being. This role embodies not just a job but a meaningful career track with a thriving team at a familiar and respected brand. It is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals eager to lead, learn, and advance within a well-established quick service restaurant framework.
