The Salon Director role at Sun Tan City is pivotal to the company’s success, tasked with leading a team to maintain the Sun Tan City Experience for clients. This position demands strong leadership and operational management skills. The Salon Director oversees the daily operations of the salon, ensuring high-quality client services and maintaining an inviting salon environment. Responsibilities include managing staffing through hiring, training, evaluation, and scheduling, alongside enforcing safety and cleanliness standards. The Salon Director actively models company principles, drives performance by motivating staff toward achieving business metrics, and manages financial aspects such as cash and inventory management. This role requires a minimum 40-hour workweek across five days, including mid and closing shifts as needed based on business demands. Compensation ranges from $13.00 to $22.00 per hour, reflecting the importance and level of responsibility of this leadership position. Job Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to bend at the waist to clean tanning equipment
- Ability to lift or assist in lifting items and heavy boxes
- Ability to bend down to pick up trash, towels, etc from floors
- Ability to perform salon cleaning functions including dusting, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing
- Management and sales experience required
- Basic computer skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple situations simultaneously
- Ability to coach and mentor
- College education preferred

Job Duties
- Developing and coaching employees to provide amazing client experiences
- Following up swiftly on client concerns and issues
- Consistently sets a positive example and demonstrates a calm demeanor during periods of high volume
- Displays a client comes first attitude by holding team members accountable for quality client service
- Drives company metrics by developing action plans
- Directly motivates and instructs the salon team by implementing company programs
- Manages with integrity and honesty and promotes the culture, values, and mission of Sun Tan City
- Plans, identifies, communicates, and delegates responsibilities to team members to ensure smooth flow of operations
- Directly responsible for the cleanliness, maintenance, sanitation, and organization of the salon
- Manages salon staffing levels to ensure employee development and maintain salon operational requirements
- Adherence to applicable wage and hour laws for non-exempt team members and minors
- Uses all operational tools to plan for and achieve operational excellence in the salon including labor guidelines, reports, cash management and inventory management
- Utilizes financial reports to identify and address trends and issues in salon performance
- Regularly conducts performance assessments, providing feedback and setting challenging goals to improve sales performance
- Manage ongoing sales
- Work a 5-day workweek of 40 hours per week including mid and/or closing shifts as determined by supervisors
