The Hampton Inn & Suites Arlington, managed by Texas Western Hospitality, is seeking an experienced, talented, and driven leader to fill the critical role of General Manager. This full-time position is vital for the hotel's success and overall operational performance. The General Manager will be responsible for developing both short and long-term financial and operational plans aligned with company objectives, preparing annual budgets, and monitoring key performance metrics such as guest satisfaction and monthly financial reports. They will oversee all revenue sources across departments including rooms, housekeeping, food and beverage, and engineering, ensuring profitability and fostering strong interdepartmental collaboration.
In this leadership role, the General Manager will work closely with the Director of Sales and may also perform sales and marketing duties such as making marketing calls, attending community business functions, and coordinating promotions. Critical operational tasks include ordering supplies and equipment per company guidelines, ensuring staff receive comprehensive training including safety protocols and standard operating procedures, and routinely inspecting guest rooms and public areas for cleanliness and presentation. The General Manager is held to high standards of compliance, adhering to all franchise, company, and regulatory policies, including OSHA and health regulations.
The role also involves financial oversight such as authorizing expenditures, assisting in budget planning, producing monthly financial reports, and managing capital improvement projects with senior executive approval. Managing human resources functions including employee motivation, development, retention, and turnover control, as well as ensuring the protection of hotel assets through effective maintenance programs, are essential responsibilities. The General Manager must maintain availability 24/7, with reliable transportation, demonstrating commitment and responsiveness.

Job Duties
- Develop short and long-term financial and operational plans for the hotel that support overall company objectives
- Prepare the annual hotel budget
- Monitor hotel performance through verification and analysis of guest satisfaction systems and monthly financial reports
- Initiate corrective action when necessary
- Manage all sources of revenue including rooms, housekeeping, food and beverage, engineering, and other departments
- Ensure all departments are profitable and maintain strong working relationships
- Work with the Director of Sales and perform sales and marketing duties if needed
- Order supplies and equipment as required in accordance with company procedures
- Ensure staff receive proper training including safety and standard operating procedures
- Inspect guest rooms, public access areas, and outside grounds for cleanliness and appearance
- Adhere to all franchise and company procedures and regulations
- Ensure bank deposits are made daily including weekends and holidays
- Promote the hotel’s policies and philosophies to employees and guests
- Allocate funds, authorize expenditures, and assist Area Director in budget planning
- Produce monthly financial reports and remain aware of hotel’s financial standing against budget
- Plan, implement, and manage annual capital improvement projects with approval
- Manage human resources including turnover control, employee motivation, development, and retention
- Conduct regular employee meetings
- Protect hotel and assets through preventive maintenance programs
- Respond quickly and courteously to guest requests and ensure guest satisfaction
- Maintain compliance with Texas Western Hospitality’s computer systems and hardware standards
- Provide a professional image through appearance and communication
- Follow company policies and procedures effectively
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws including OSHA, EEOC, Wage-Hour, and Health laws
- Be available 24/7 with reliable transportation
