Job Description
U.S. Lawns is a leading lawn care franchise system consisting of independently owned and operated franchises throughout the United States. The company specializes in providing high-quality commercial lawn care services, including landscape maintenance, tree and shrub care, and other related services tailored to meet the needs of a diverse clientele. As an established franchise brand, U.S. Lawns combines local business flexibility with the support and resources of a nationwide network, offering franchisees and employees opportunities for growth and development within a thriving industry. The decentralized model allows each franchise to operate autonomously, managing its own hiring, operational decisions, and customer relationships, ensuring personalized services that cater to local market demands.
This job opportunity is connected to one of these franchise offices, which are independently owned and operated. As such, employment offers and related decisions are made at the franchise level, not by the corporate entity of U.S. Lawns, Inc. Candidates advancing through the hiring process should understand that they would be employed by the local franchise and not the corporate headquarters of U.S. Lawns, Inc. The franchise system prides itself on adhering to Equal Opportunity Employment practices, promoting inclusivity and fairness in its hiring processes.
The position involves multifaceted responsibilities aimed at the comprehensive management of the local franchise operations. The role encompasses financial management duties, including overseeing all budgetary elements such as labor, materials, and administrative expenses. This ensures operational efficiency and fiscal responsibility. The individual will also manage accounts receivable, review monthly financial statements, understand profit and loss reports, and maintain cash flow knowledge to guide the financial health of the franchise.
Client management forms a significant portion of the role. The candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a client contact log, administering client satisfaction surveys, and acting as the primary point of contact for clients. By working closely with customers, the candidate will set appropriate budgets for maintenance and enhancement projects, and engage in local client-driven activities to foster strong business relationships and promote client retention.
Employee management is another core component of this position. The candidate will design and implement recruiting strategies to attract qualified personnel, conduct supervisory training for key employees to promote effective team leadership, and act as a liaison between field staff and office management to ensure clear communication. Additionally, maintaining crew morale through the development of morale-boosting initiatives is essential to sustaining a productive work environment.
Safety management is critical to this role as well. The individual will oversee compliance with all relevant safety programs, including those required by OSHA and other regulatory bodies. They will serve as, or supervise, the Branch Safety Officer and monitor changes in local, state, and federal safety regulations. Management of the Hazard Communication Program and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for the shop and company vehicles ensures that workplace safety standards are rigorously maintained.
Overall, this role is designed for a proactive, organized, and knowledgeable professional who can manage the wide-ranging aspects of franchise operations. It requires a balance of financial acumen, client relationship skills, employee leadership, and a strong commitment to safety standards. This position offers the chance to work within a reputable franchise system that will support and empower individuals to succeed and grow professionally in the lawn care industry.
