Job Description
The hiring company is a well-established restaurant located in Salem, Oregon, dedicated to delivering high-quality food products and exceptional customer service. This establishment prides itself on maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient working environment that maximizes customer satisfaction and ensures operational profitability. As a key player in the food service industry, this restaurant focuses on fast and accurate preparation of sandwiches along with world-class customer interactions. With a substantial team size, including assistant managers and hourly employees, the company emphasizes strong leadership to maintain its standard of excellence while adapting to the fast-paced and demanding nature of restaurant management.
The role available is a Restaurant Manager position, a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the restaurant. This position manages a team of approximately 25 to 30 employees, including three assistant managers, ensuring that daily operations run smoothly. The successful candidate will be tasked with hiring, training, evaluating, disciplining, and terminating staff as needed, fostering a productive and motivated workforce. The manager will also be responsible for ordering and inventory management, to minimize losses from waste or theft while ensuring sufficient stock levels. This hands-on role involves supervising food preparation and service, particularly during high-traffic periods, and assisting staff with customer service duties to maintain efficiency and quality standards.
Additionally, the role demands proficiency in forecasting food consumption for each shift, supervising delivery operations, completing daily preparations like bread production and slicing meats and vegetables, and maintaining compliance with all company systems and procedures. The restaurant manager is expected to carry out inventory audits, manage paperwork accurately, and conduct weekly manager meetings to communicate and implement operational goals and updates. A strong focus on equipment maintenance and overall store upkeep is also part of the job.
Beyond operational management, the position requires the manager to take full responsibility for cash handling, including deposits and change orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the company's deposit operating procedures. Physical stamina is necessary due to the job's demands, which include standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and occasionally climbing or crawling as needed. Comfort in a moderately noisy environment and the ability to perform various physical activities during long shifts are important. The role also requires the ability to communicate effectively in English, possess strong mathematical skills, and have proficiency with computer software such as Excel and Word.
Special requirements for candidates include willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends to meet business demands. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, have reliable transportation and auto insurance, and possess the physical stamina to work 50 to 60 hours per week. This is a full-time management position offering an opportunity for career growth in a supportive and dynamic setting, perfect for individuals committed to excellence in the restaurant industry and leading a strong team towards achieving operational goals.
