Job Description

Wendy's is a globally recognized fast-food restaurant chain known for its fresh, made-to-order food and commitment to quality service. Established over four decades ago, Wendy's has grown to operate thousands of locations internationally, making it one of the leading fast-food brands worldwide. The company prides itself on delivering a welcoming atmosphere combined with delicious menu offerings, focusing on customer satisfaction and operational excellence. Currently, Wendy's operates a specific subset of its restaurants within Pilot Flying J Travel Centers, which are among the largest travel center and plaza operators in North America, offering services and dining options 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. Pilot Flying J itself boasts over 650 retail locations and runs more than 350 franchised restaurants, including Wendy's, making it one of the largest restaurant franchisees in America.

The role of Restaurant General Manager (GM) at a Wendy's location inside a Pilot Flying J Travel Center is a pivotal leadership position requiring strong management skills, a customer-centric approach, and operational oversight to ensure outstanding guest experiences and profitable restaurant operations. The GM will be responsible for building, coaching, managing, and developing teams from the ground up, including staffing, interviewing, hiring, and comprehensive training programs. This leader is also tasked with ensuring the restaurant complies with all local, state, and federal regulations, particularly those related to health, safety, and labor laws. With a focus on maintaining high standards, the GM will oversee daily operations, including inventory control, scheduling, and financial management such as profit and loss (P&L) analysis.

Working at a fast-paced, high-volume location, the Restaurant General Manager will directly influence customer satisfaction by ensuring service excellence and operational efficiency. The role demands flexibility in scheduling since Wendy's within Pilot Flying J operates around the clock, offering work environment exposure during nights, days, weekends, and holidays. This position is well suited for an experienced manager seeking growth opportunities in a nationally recognized brand with substantial potential for relocation benefits. Employees at Wendy's in this context can also anticipate competitive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) retirement options, flexible spending accounts, adoption assistance, paid parental and adoption leave, tuition reimbursement, flexible scheduling, and weekly pay. This benefits package highlights the company’s commitment to supporting its workforce both professionally and personally.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates who demonstrate accountability, integrity, and a passion for customer service, coupled with a strategic mindset for managing retail food service operations. By joining Wendy's within the Pilot Flying J network, the Restaurant General Manager can expect to foster team success and contribute to a vibrant, fast-moving work environment that values leadership development and operational excellence.
