Key responsibilities include managing customer outreach programs to enhance service satisfaction, selecting and developing competent location staff, and maintaining continuous communication with teams to align operational objectives. Oversight of fleet maintenance and safety training programs ensures that all vehicles meet availability and compliance standards, supporting smooth and safe transit services. Routine audits, financial management, and metrics review are essential to monitor performance, identify areas of improvement, and develop action plans to meet operational, safety, and financial targets.

The role entails active participation in labor relations and policy committees to foster positive changes within the company framework, as well as contributing to contract renewal preparations by providing critical insights and budget proposals. This position demands strong leadership, strategic thinking, and effective multitasking, with a salary range of $134,000 to $158,000, reflecting the level of expertise required for successful management in a dynamic transit environment.

Job Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent business management experience
  • Management experience required
  • Minimum of five years of comprehensive experience in operations management
  • Seven years of management or supervisory experience in a transit environment
  • Knowledge of Trapeze scheduling software
  • Expertise in labor/union negotiations and expenses
  • Full understanding of dispatch, scheduling, driver recruitment, and safety DOT and FTA compliance
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High degree of multi-tasking skills

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of comprehensive experience in operations management and a combination of seven years of management or supervisory experience in a transit environment with knowledge of Trapeze scheduling software

Job Duties

  • Effectively manage customer relations through both direct contact and outreach programs
  • Identify, select, train and mentor location staff
  • Effectively and frequently communicate with location staff and support team members
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance plan and ensures fleet availability to meet service requirements
  • Oversee safety and training programs, plans and processes to ensure compliance with company, contract and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain client contact routinely to meet or exceed expectations
  • Conduct periodic departmental audits
  • Daily, weekly and monthly review of key operational metrics
  • Ensure that all location financial metrics are managed continuously, exceptions are reported and action plans are developed to ensure the location meets it financial, safety and operational expectations
  • Implement, promote and adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Interact with bridges committee to effectuate positive changes to policies, procedures and programs
  • Participate in location(s) labor and employee relations activities
  • Provide insight and information to support location(s) contract renewals
  • Create and present location(s) annual budget
