Job Description

Located in South Bend, IN, the Wendy's franchise is seeking a dedicated and experienced General Manager to lead its store operations. The General Manager will be responsible for executing the store plan to achieve established standards, sales, local marketing programs, and profits. This leadership role requires a strong focus on staffing, personnel training, operational efficiency, and maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction. The position is vital in ensuring the store meets its budgeted sales and profit goals while remaining compliant with company standards and local regulations.

The General Manager will oversee the comprehensive management of the store, including controlling costs, managing budgets, developing marketing plans responsive to market conditions, and handling competitor activities. They will lead and develop a strong management team by hiring, training, and managing subordinate managers and crew members to ensure adequate staffing and skill development. Maintaining product quality, excellent customer service, and cleanliness are key priorities, all of which the General Manager will ensure through direct training and supervision.

This role demands hands-on leadership, including active participation in store operations such as performance reviews, quality assurance inspections, inventory management, scheduling, and maintaining a safe working environment. Safety, adherence to policies, and employee relations will also be under the General Manager's purview, where they will enforce cash control procedures, manage employee performance, and foster a positive work environment to reduce turnover and maximize retention. The role also requires physical stamina due to the demands of standing for long periods, lifting supplies, inspecting restaurant areas, and traveling between stores.

Candidates for this role should possess a college degree or equivalent experience in operations, with 1-2 years of management or operations experience in the restaurant industry. Proficiency in all restaurant operational positions and strong leadership skills are essential. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel among stores are required.
