This job opportunity is offered by an independently owned and operated restaurant operating under the McDonald's brand as a franchisee. The role available is that of General Manager, a pivotal leadership position that requires commitment, operational skills, and the ability to lead a fast-paced team within the restaurant. The General Manager's responsibilities are extensive and include ensuring the restaurant's safety and profitability according to the SHG business plan. This involves managing schedules, handling employee requests and time punches, overseeing deposits and payroll, maintaining safe accountability, and conducting audits. Additionally, the General Manager collaborates closely with department managers from the kitchen, guest service, and people (human resources) teams to implement strategic initiatives that enhance food safety, operational metrics, guest satisfaction, staff training, promotions, and recognition. Reporting directly to the owner/operator, the General Manager plays a crucial role in managing day-to-day operations and advancing the restaurant's achievements.
This role is available on a full-time basis, with an expectation of 45-48 hours per week, including a mix of various shifts across days, weekends, and closing times to best meet the restaurant's needs. The ideal candidate will bring previous managerial experience in McDonald’s or another quick service restaurant environment, a working knowledge of basic computer skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in English, with bilingual abilities in Spanish considered a significant advantage. - Must be able to work a mix of dayparts including 2 Sundays, 2 Fridays, and 2 closings
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain professionalism and adherence to policies at all times
Job Qualifications
- McDonald's managerial experience or equivalent quick service restaurant experience
- Bilingual with proficiency in English and Spanish is a major plus
- Basic knowledge and application of computer skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work diverse shifts including weekends and evenings
- Commitment to quality, service, cleanliness and teamwork
- Proven ability to manage staff and operations effectively
Job Duties
- Ensure safety and profitability while adhering to SHG business plan
- Produce manager schedules, requests, punches and approvals
- Submit daily and weekly deposits, payroll and safe accountability and audits
- Work with kitchen department manager on food safety checks and calibrations, operating supply inventory and ordering, monitor kitchen operational metrics and targets
- Work with guest service manager on hospitality standards and overall guest satisfaction, POP and signage, monitor operational metrics and targets
- Work with people department manager on ongoing team training, team promotions, recognition and turnover, team schedules
- Report directly to the owner/operator
