Job Requirements

  • At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
  • a 4-year college degree and at least 4 to 5 years of related experience
  • or a 2-year college degree and at least 5 to 6 years of related experience
  • exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently or constantly
  • maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
  • effectively communicate verbally and written with all levels of employees and guests
  • effectively listen to and clarify employee and guest concerns
  • able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • approach all encounters in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
  • attend all hotel required meetings and trainings

Job Duties

  • Tour the operating departments daily, making adjustments as needed via department heads
  • conduct weekly staff meetings and training sessions per Highgate Hotel standards
  • meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs promptly
  • hold monthly financial review meetings with department managers and supervisors
  • ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity and accounting procedures
  • develop managers through competency and corporate sponsored training
  • collaborate with Director of Sales on daily revenue meetings and business prospecting
  • engage in hotel sales efforts including client meetings and receptions
  • participate in required management on-duty coverage
  • monitor development of management trainees
  • enforce compliance with Highgate policies and train new managers
  • assist in budget processes as required
  • ensure service standards training in all departments
  • foster positive team environment focused on guest satisfaction
  • conduct regular room inspections with housekeeping and engineering
  • manage accurate processing of invoices via A/P process
  • ensure timely submission of financial documents per accounting calendar
  • oversee cleanliness and maintenance through inspections and preventive programs
  • ensure employees maintain attentive, friendly, and courteous interaction
  • forecast monthly financial position with detailed analysis
  • conduct management interviews and hiring per SOPs
  • interview final candidates for management roles
  • perform performance appraisals as per SOPs
  • motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline management staff
  • perform additional duties requested by leadership
  • ensure equitable treatment of all employees
  • meet and assist clients on property to support sales
  • engage with guests during peak times
  • enforce hotel safe procedures and audits
  • conduct monthly credit meetings and participate in credit policies
  • complete and deliver corporate required training modules
  • ensure scheduling of all property meetings
