Job Requirements
- must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays
- must frequently lift 40 pounds
- must be able to stand, walk and climb stairs frequently
- must be able to be on feet for the duration of the shift
- must be able to work on computer systems and multi-line telephone
- must be able to handle dogs on leashes
- must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant, sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions
Job Qualifications
- BS/BA is a plus
- passionate team player and strong motivator
- strong background in people management and driving performance excellence
- five plus years in full P&L management preferably in hospitality, service, or retail
- experience in problem-solving and sound judgment
- proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database applications
- ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
- excellent oral presentation, writing, and analytical skills
- strong interpersonal, communication, and motivational skills
- exceptional strong customer service experience and skills
- veterinary, boarding or grooming experience required
- experience managing inventory and accounts payable
Job Duties
- supports the mission, vision, culture and policies of Destination Pet
- ensures exceptional customer service through personal contact, associate training, and complaint resolution
- collaborates with Destination Pet support staff including Operations, Human Resources, Marketing, Facilities, Legal
- ensures cohesiveness of all pet care services and cross training
- manages all staff including recruiting, hiring, motivating, training, promoting, counseling, and termination
- oversees staff scheduling to meet service and budget goals
- manages center payroll and ensures timely approval
- ensures compliance with federal and local labor laws such as OSHA, EEOC, ADA, Fair Labor Practices
- conducts safety training and enforces safe-handling rules
- prepares and delivers annual performance reviews
- monitors and responds to needs of pet guests for safety and comfort
- resolves customer and staff complaints
- actively manages social media accounts and responds to customer comments
- creates and executes local marketing programs
- attends community events and partners with local businesses
- maintains inventory of supplies and restocks as necessary
- manages computer systems in the center
- addresses maintenance needs for a safe environment
- utilizes financial reports and statistics
- manages cash including payments and end-of-day balances
- ensures timely bank deposits
- promotes Destination Pet programs and services in the community
- assists other team members
- performs other assigned duties
