Job Requirements
- At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
- or a 4-year college degree and at least 4 to 5 years of related experience
- or a 2-year college degree and at least 5 to 6 years of related experience
- exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects
- maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
- effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and guests in a service-oriented manner
- effectively listen, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests
- multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
- approach guests and employees attentively and courteously
- attend all required hotel meetings and trainings
- participate in M.O.D. coverage as required
- maintain regular attendance according to scheduling
- maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing nametags
- comply with hotel standards and safety regulations
- effective in handling problems including anticipating and solving them
- understand and evaluate complex information and data
- maintain confidentiality of information

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Tour the operating departments daily and make necessary adjustments with department heads
- conduct weekly staff meetings and training sessions according to Highgate Hotel standards
- meet all financial review dates and corporate programs timely
- hold monthly financial reviews with department managers and supervisors
- ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and accounting procedures
- develop managers for advancement through training programs
- conduct daily HHBR meeting with Director of Sales focusing on prospecting and account calls
- play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts including client meetings and hosting events
- participate in M.O.D. coverage as scheduled
- monitor development of management trainees
- ensure compliance with all Highgate Hotel policies and train new managers
- assist in budget process
- ensure training in service standards across departments
- create a positive guest-focused team environment
- conduct regular room inspections
- process invoices daily using A/P process
- ensure financial documents are submitted monthly
- maintain property cleanliness and maintenance
- ensure employees are attentive, friendly, courteous, and efficient
- forecast hotel financial position monthly and generate reforecast
- conduct management interviews following Highgate SOPs
- interview final candidates for management positions
- perform performance appraisals and ensure compliance
- motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline management personnel
- perform duties as requested by Vice President or Regional Director of Operations
- ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees
- meet clients on property to assist sales efforts
- greet guests in public areas during peak times
- ensure hotel safe security and monthly audits
- conduct monthly credit meetings and manage credit policies
- complete corporate training modules and certify as trainer
- ensure scheduled meetings occur on property
