Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
  • Minimum 6 years of progressive management experience in luxury hotel operations
  • Proven track record of achieving profitability and guest satisfaction goals

Job Qualifications

  • At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or related field or a 4-year college degree and 4 to 5 years related experience or a 2-year college degree and 5 to 6 years related experience
  • Previous luxury hotel experience required
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
  • Effective verbal and written communication with all levels of employees and guests
  • Effective listening and problem clarification skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Approaches all encounters in a friendly courteous and service-oriented manner
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings
  • Participate in management on-duty coverage
  • Maintain regular attendance as required by scheduling
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing nametags
  • Comply with all hotel standards and regulations

Job Duties

  • Tour operating departments daily making adjustments as needed via department heads
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings including training sessions and review of sales and operations efforts
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion
  • Hold monthly financial reviews with all department managers and supervisors
  • Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and standard accounting procedures
  • Develop managers for future advancement through competency and corporate training programs
  • Conduct daily sales meetings with Director of Sales focusing on prospecting and account calls
  • Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts including calling top accounts, meeting clients, hosting events
  • Participate in required management coverage as scheduled
  • Monitor and develop management trainees
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures training new managers
  • Oversee and assist in the budget process
  • Ensure service standards training and compliance
  • Foster a positive team-oriented guest-focused environment
  • Inspect rooms regularly with housekeeping and engineer
  • Ensure daily invoice processing and monthly financial document compliance
  • Maintain cleanliness and maintenance through inspections and preventive programs
  • Ensure employees provide friendly courteous efficient service
  • Forecast monthly financial position by analyzing revenues and expenses
  • Conduct all management interviews and follow hiring procedures
  • Interview final candidates for vacant management positions
  • Perform executive committee performance appraisals and ensure compliance
  • Motivate and discipline management personnel
  • Perform duties requested by VP or Regional Director of Operations
  • Ensure fair and equitable employee treatment
  • Meet clients on property and assist in sales efforts
  • Greet guests during peak times
  • Ensure hotel safe security and audits
  • Conduct monthly credit meetings and manage credit policies
  • Complete required corporate training and certification
  • Ensure all scheduled meetings take place on property
