Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Hotel Administration, Business Administration or related field preferred
- Three years as a General Manager, Operations Manager, and/or Director of Sales in extended stay hotels preferred
- Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English
- Other languages beneficial
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Mathematical skills including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances
- Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities
- Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred
- Ability to travel including some overnight travel required
- Valid driver's license required
- Frequently standing up, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility
- Will be exposed to commercial cleaning chemicals
- Carrying, lifting or pulling items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Frequently handling objects and equipment
- Will be required to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hotel Administration, Business Administration or related field preferred
- Experience as a General Manager, Operations Manager, and/or Director of Sales in extended stay hotels preferred
- Fluent in English
- Strong professional communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred
- Strong mathematical and budgeting skills
- Excellent problem solving, organizational and leadership abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to travel and flexible working hours
Job Duties
- Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients
- Manage according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards and instill a passion for customer service in all associates
- Create processes to ensure the hotel is properly supplied with guest amenities and food and beverage outlets meet expectations
- Manage direct sales activities in partnership with Regional Sales Director and Global Sales Office
- Supervise the Director of Sales and execute the hotel's sales and marketing plan
- Collaborate with Regional Revenue Manager on seasonal demand strategy and pricing
- Use property management and reservation systems to maximize revenue through occupancy and rate adjustments
- Regularly sell hotel rooms through direct client contact
- Establish and implement service recovery guidelines to ensure guest satisfaction
- Respond to guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally
- Manage the Sonesta ES Suites brand positioning using marketing programs and guest recognition initiatives
- Oversee front office, housekeeping, and food and beverage operations through the Operations Manager
- Supervise Maintenance Manager to manage appearance, condition, and preventive maintenance of the property
- Attend hotel social and breakfast events as management representative and to prospect sales leads
- Lead development, implementation, and monitoring of capital and operational budgets
- Collaborate with Finance Department and ownership on financial conditions and variances
- Ensure proper management and reporting of financial inflows and outflows with General Ledger Accountant
- Manage physical plant condition and budgets in partnership with Manager of National Engineering and Facilities Operations
- Oversee human resources and benefits programs, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and offboarding
- Ensure proper management of IT hardware and software through coordination with IT representatives
- Manage purchasing of all hotel supplies in partnership with Procurement representatives
- Enforce hotel standards, policies, and procedures across all departments
- Act as Manager on Duty when required
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding health, safety, and alcohol service
- Perform other duties as assigned
