We are currently seeking a General Manager to oversee all aspects of our hotel's operations, ensuring the delivery of excellent guest experiences and achieving financial and operational goals. The General Manager will lead the hotel team by example, uphold company brand standards, and drive associate satisfaction. This is an essential leadership role responsible for managing guest satisfaction targets, maintaining the hotel's reputation, and implementing strategies that align with company objectives. The General Manager will also ensure compliance with employment laws, oversee recruitment and training, and maintain budget control.

In this role, the General Manager will promote an energy-filled work environment through teamwork and recognition, ensuring the hotel maintains high cleanliness standards and that guest rooms and public areas are always guest-ready. The role includes responsibilities for managing labor expenses, controlling cash flow, and maintaining vendor relationships. The General Manager will collaborate with the District Manager to optimize associate performance and enforce company policies fairly and consistently. By monitoring market trends, competitive surveillance, and lead generation activities, this position actively contributes to the hotel's growth and success.

This role demands a strong commitment to service excellence, leadership capabilities, operational knowledge of hotel management, and the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in hotel management or related hospitality role
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing diverse teams
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Strong commitment to customer service excellence

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience in hotel management or similar hospitality leadership role
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations and guest service standards
  • Experience in staff recruitment, training, and development
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to manage financials including budgeting and labor cost control
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of brand standards and quality compliance
  • Familiarity with employment laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in using hotel management software and tools
  • Ability to handle guest complaints and resolve conflicts efficiently

Job Duties

  • Demonstrates and promotes 100% commitment to providing the best possible experience for our guests
  • Ensures that all guest related issues are resolved in a manner consistent with the company's goals and objectives
  • Ensures rooms are guest ready including adhering to the highest cleanliness standards
  • Maintains public areas and grounds in excellent condition
  • Completes daily room and guest ready room inspections
  • Manages ESA Brand Standards and processes while pursuing continuous improvement
  • Ensures proper recruiting, interviewing, screening, reference checking, and hiring procedures are followed
  • Onboards and trains new associates including Best Day Ever and Extended Stay University training course compliance
  • Drives positive work environment through teamwork, leading by example with energy, enthusiasm and recognition
  • Partners with District Manager to generate optimal associate performance including coaching, counseling and enforcement of company policies
  • Conducts daily team meetings to communicate and discuss company updates and areas of hotel needs to improve performance
  • Provides team members with necessary tools and supplies to perform their jobs
  • Maintains appropriate PAR levels through Daily Visual Management
  • Efficiently manages rooms to keep all guest rooms in service
  • Manages and controls labor expenses by approving Daily Punches timely
  • Responsible for cash management and ensuring corporate lodging procedures are followed
  • Ensures quality lead generation quotas are met
  • Upholds and enforces ESA standards and policy compliance
  • Ensures bank deposits are completed per company policy
  • Completes competitive surveillance and sales drive-bys
  • Reviews in-house rates
  • Adheres to federal, state and local employment related laws and regulations
  • Performs duties in all aspects of hotel operations as needed
  • Directly manages an Assistant General Manager or Team Leader
  • Monitors guest experience and social media websites for timely responses
