Job Description
This limited-service hotel, located near the iconic United Center in Chicago, stands as a prominent player within the bustling Chicago hotel market. With 115 rooms and a branded presence that boasts strong systems, a loyal customer base, and extensive distribution channels, this property offers both stability and growth potential. Operated within a vibrant urban environment that attracts corporate travelers, meeting planners, and leisure guests year-round, this hotel is ideally situated to capitalize on Chicago's dynamic hospitality scene. The hotel's strategic location near major attractions and business hubs ensures a steady stream of diverse clientele, enhancing its competitive edge in the limited-service segment.
The opportunity presented by this role is truly exceptional for a seasoned hospitality leader ready to take the helm of a limited-service convention hotel in one of the top U.S. hotel markets. This position offers full P&L ownership, entrusting you with the financial stewardship of the property, including revenue generation, expense management, and profitability against budget targets. Leading a dedicated team of 20 to 30-plus employees across various departments, you will have the chance to directly influence the overall guest experience, operational excellence, and the hotel's cultural fabric.
Unlike conventional roles, this General Manager position requires a hands-on leader who thrives by being actively present on the hotel floor—engaging with staff, guests, and partners alike. Your leadership will shape the culture, drive financial results, and ensure that the hotel maintains brand compliance through rigorous quality audits, training standards, and impeccable property presentation. In addition, you will take ownership of revenue strategy, collaborating with Sales and brand teams to optimize pricing, group mix, and channel management to maximize RevPAR and NOI.
This role is supported by an ownership group that values investment in both properties and people, ensuring you have the necessary resources and support structure to succeed. The property benefits from a recognized brand with a solid loyalty program, national sales channels, and a strong presence on online travel agencies, all of which provide a substantial competitive advantage.
Furthermore, the General Manager will serve as a key representative of the hotel in the local community, fostering strong relationships with business and tourism partners to enhance the hotel's reputation and market positioning. With an emphasis on leadership development and career growth, this position offers a direct pathway to regional and multi-property management opportunities for professionals who demonstrate success and alignment with the company’s core values.
The compensation for this full-time role ranges between $85,000 and $90,000, with a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays. While the role does not offer relocation assistance, it represents a career-defining chance for driven leaders ready to make a significant impact in a major metropolitan hospitality market.
