Job Description
Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, known for its portfolio of exceptional brands and commitment to providing outstanding guest experiences. Among its many hotels, Four Points by Sheraton stands out as a welcoming and approachable place where guests from all over the world can enjoy a blend of timeless classics and modern details. Located at 6850 E Williams Field Rd, Mesa, Arizona, this establishment embraces diversity, inclusiveness, and a supportive work environment where every team member plays a crucial role in delivering excellent service. Marriott International fosters a culture that values the fusion of diverse cultures, talents, and experiences, ensuring that every associate feels welcome and empowered. The commitment to equal employment opportunity and non-discrimination creates a workplace that respects all individuals and promotes fairness, regardless of disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics.
The role being offered is for a Full-Time Maintenance Worker focused primarily on the evening shift. This is a non-management position that pays $21.60 per hour. The position is based on-site in Mesa, Arizona, so remote work is not an option. The Maintenance Worker will be responsible for planned preventive maintenance in guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public spaces. This includes inspecting mattresses and box springs, assembling bed frames, vacuuming behind and under furniture, removing carpet and upholstery stains, dusting, touching up paint and furniture, ensuring all fixtures and appliances are present and working correctly, replacing light fixtures, and inspecting grout and caulking. Additionally, minor repairs such as tightening toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and filling wall holes fall under this role. The worker will perform a thorough cleaning of guest room surfaces including tubs, tiles, floors, walls, windows, and mirrors.
This role requires strict adherence to company policies and safety procedures. The Maintenance Worker must immediately report major maintenance issues, unusual findings, or safety hazards to the manager or supervisor. Compliance with company dress and appearance standards as well as confidentiality and protection of company assets is mandatory. A significant part of the job involves guest interaction, where the employee is expected to greet guests warmly, anticipate their service needs, and maintain positive working relationships with other team members to achieve common goals.
Physical demands include reaching above the head and below the knees, bending, twisting at the waist, dragging, lifting, pushing, and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds independently, and assisting with heavier items. The employee will be standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods throughout the shift. Other reasonable duties may be assigned as necessary. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, less than one year of related work experience, and no requirement for supervisory experience or certifications. This position offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic global team with Marriott International, contributing to an environment where employees can perform their best work, fulfill their purpose, and grow professionally.
