The role of a Geek Squad Delivery Driver, also known internally as a Delivery Experience Agent, is a crucial position within Best Buy’s logistics and customer service operations. This full-time role primarily involves the delivery, installation, repair, and removal (haul-away) of appliances, televisions, and other technology products that vary in complexity. The Delivery Experience Agent ensures that these major appliances are transported and installed safely and efficiently into customer homes or designated delivery locations.
A key aspect of this role involves assessing the best possible routes inside customers’ homes to deliver appliances while considering any spatial constraints. This may include measuring doorways, maneuvering through tight spaces, detaching doors or fixtures if necessary, and protecting surfaces and belongings during installation. Delivering quality service also means advising customers on product placement, device networking, and proper usage, aiming to enhance their overall technology experience.
In addition to physical delivery and installation duties, the Delivery Experience Agent plays a vital role in completing required operational tasks such as managing inventory, maintaining the delivery vehicle, processing paperwork and payments, and providing feedback to store teams. Another important responsibility is training new delivery drivers, ensuring consistency and quality within the team. This role requires working both independently and collaboratively, particularly when handling large or complex delivery jobs that require teamwork.
Candidates for this position must demonstrate a customer-centric mindset, physical capability to handle heavy items (up to 350 pounds alone or 700 pounds as a team), and valid driver’s license with a safe driving record compliant with Best Buy’s standards. Job Requirements
- 6 months of customer service sales installation or large product delivery experience
- Current valid driver’s license
- Have and maintain a driving record that meets Best Buy’s safety standards e g minimal number of violations accidents
- Ability to carry lift push and pull weight up to 350 pounds alone or up to 700 pounds as part of team with the use of a harness lift or dolly with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Acquire and maintain any state or local licensing as required within 90 days of being hired
Job Qualifications
- Experience in customer service sales installation or large product delivery for at least 6 months
- Current valid driver’s license
- Strong leadership decision making written and verbal communication and client relations skills
- Experience in an in-home installation environment
- Experience using and learning about technology products
Job Duties
- Attend to delivery duties including the installation networking and repair of devices with a focus on home theater equipment and appliances
- Provide a seamless client experience by providing advice on product placement services and other content
- Manage inventory and vehicle maintenance in partnership with other team members
- Process paperwork and payment provide feedback to the store teams and complete in-store repairs
- Provide training to new drivers
- Lead and assist on two person jobs as well as perform work alone
