Baker Tilly is currently seeking a GAAP Compilation Senior Consultant to join its Public Sector group. This group specializes in serving the advisory and accounting needs of state and local governments, special purpose governments, and entities such as counties, boroughs, cities, villages, townships, schools, utilities, districts, and agencies across the United States. The role offers a unique opportunity to work within a dynamic team environment focused on delivering high-quality financial reporting and accounting services tailored to public sector entities. The position is ideal for a professional with extensive experience in GAAP compilation engagements and the ability to manage and oversee day-to-day activities related to compilation and agreed-upon procedures.

In this role, the Senior Consultant will be responsible for supervising and leading staff teams, providing counsel, guidance, and coaching while evaluating performance on client engagements. The consultant will also identify complex accounting and reporting issues per professional standards and recommend practical business and process improvements to optimize client operations. Strong client relationship management and communication skills are crucial, as the role involves proactive engagement with clients to ensure superior service delivery. The position stresses continuous professional development through participation in training, networking opportunities, and recruitment activities, including supporting campus recruiting and employee referral programs. Although travel requirements are limited, some travel may be necessary to fulfill client needs.
