As part of Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP, and Baker Tilly US, LLP, the organization offers a comprehensive range of professional services with a unique alternative practice structure adhering to the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct and all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Baker Tilly US, LLP operates as a licensed independent CPA firm focusing on attest services, while Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP and its subsidiaries provide specialized tax and business advisory solutions. Although the subsidiaries are not licensed CPA firms, they are integral to the brand’s commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
Baker Tilly operates as an independent member of Baker Tilly International, a vast global network encompassing 141 territories with 43,000 professionals contributing to a combined worldwide revenue of $5.2 billion. This global affiliation reinforces Baker Tilly’s ability to provide insightful, locally informed, and globally connected professional services to its clients. The firm values diversity and inclusion, as indicated in its equal opportunity employment policy that ensures fair hiring practices without prejudice to race, gender, religion, or other protected statuses.
The position available is for a GAAP Compilation Senior Consultant within the firm’s Public Sector group. This group is dedicated to addressing the advisory and accounting requirements of various government entities such as state and local governments, counties, boroughs, cities, villages, townships, schools, utilities, districts, agencies, and other special purpose governments across the United States. The role involves overseeing U.S. GAAP compilations and reporting, agreed-upon procedures, and special projects.
This senior consultant will be responsible for managing and leading day-to-day activities associated with financial compilation engagements following U.S. GAAP standards. The consultant must expertly identify accounting and financial reporting issues and provide practical recommendations for business and process improvements tailored to clients' operational and business objectives. A critical aspect of the role is fostering strong client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service delivery.
The GAAP Compilation Senior Consultant will supervise and mentor staff members, offering guidance and coaching that encourages professional growth and ensures high performance on client engagements. The role demands a commitment to continuous learning and development by participating actively in training sessions and networking opportunities both within and outside the firm. Additionally, this position may involve recruitment responsibilities, such as engaging in campus recruiting efforts and participating in referral programs to attract talent to Baker Tilly.
The consultant is expected to demonstrate excellent teamwork, maintain a positive attitude, and uphold the firm's high ethical standards. While travel requirements for this role are limited, some travel may be necessary. Overall, this position provides an excellent opportunity for a seasoned accounting professional to advance their career in a dynamic, client-focused environment, leveraging Baker Tilly’s strong industry presence and commitment to quality and integrity.
