Job Requirements

  • Drivers license required to operate a state vehicle
  • Certified Texas Contract Manager certification required within 6 months of employment
  • Ability to navigate and inspect various facility locations including schools and medical labs
  • Must be able to walk, climb, bend, crawl, stretch, and lift occasionally
  • Ability to work more than eight hours in a workday as necessary
  • Must complete the electronic State of Texas Uniform Application for Employment
  • Eligible to work in the United States and provide required documentation
  • Must show proof of Selective Service registration for males aged 18-25
  • Willingness to undergo criminal background and driver record checks

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience managing custodial service contracts in office buildings, hospitals, residential facilities or similar
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience supervising and developing custodial teams
  • Strong knowledge of custodial operations, industry standards, and best practices
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in contract management and operations software
  • Spanish fluency preferred
  • Ability to maintain security and integrity of state's critical infrastructure

Job Duties

  • Manage all aspects of custodial service contracts including negotiations, renewals, and amendments
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms, conditions, and performance metrics
  • Monitor vendor performance, conduct regular inspections, and address service deficiencies
  • Collaborate with procurement team to select qualified custodial providers
  • Develop and implement cleaning protocols, schedules, and quality control measures
  • Implement best practices for custodial services including safety procedures and equipment maintenance
  • Prepare and manage custodial services budget and review vendor invoices
  • Supervise and train custodial staff including scheduling and performance evaluations
  • Foster positive and inclusive work environment promoting teamwork and growth
  • Establish client relationships and address custodial concerns promptly
  • Conduct regular client satisfaction meetings and coordinate with internal stakeholders
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
