Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2,500 hours flight time
  • 1,000 hours pilot-in-command airplane
  • 500 hours cross-country flight
  • 100 night flight hours
  • 100 hours actual or simulated instrument time, 75 in actual flight
  • Commercial pilot certificate with instrument and multi-engine land ratings
  • Valid FAA second class medical certificate issued within 12 months
  • Multi-engine commercial certificate, ATP preferred
  • Certified flight instructor (CFI) preferred
  • Valid unexpired driver’s license
  • Experience in instructing
  • Knowledge of Garmin avionics.

Job Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2,500 hours of flight time
  • 1,000 hours PIC airplane
  • 500 cross-country hours
  • 100 night hours
  • 100 hours of actual or simulated instrument time with at least 75 hours in actual flight
  • Commercial, instrument and multi-engine land certifications
  • FAA second class medical issued within the last 12 months
  • Multi-engine commercial certificate, ATP preferred
  • Certified flight instructor (CFI) preferred
  • Valid unexpired driver’s license
  • Prior instructing experience heavily weighted
  • Familiarity with Garmin avionics required.

Job Duties

  • Oversees and manages classroom in the course of conducting new-hire and recurrent pilot training
  • Plans classroom assignments and manages daily training schedule
  • Conducts training activities in accordance with the FAA-approved training manual
  • Distributes classroom assignments and ensures compliance of required exercises
  • Instructs on the proper use of all associated company documentation including aircraft manuals, load manifests, dispatch risk assessments, operations manual, aeronautical charts
  • Instructs in the proper techniques of loading/distributing cargo, passengers and patients including weight and balance computations within prescribed limitations
  • Instructs in the proper techniques of pre-flight duties such as engine inspections, fluid levels, airframe condition, control surface integrity, avionics database currency, personal equipment, ramp securing/mooring, aircraft logbook
  • Instructs on cargo security, passenger comfort, and emergency equipment presence
  • Instructs on optimal aircraft operations considering turbulence, weather, oxygen requirements, passenger comfort
  • Performs duties as simulator instructor for initial and recurrent training
  • Coordinates trainee pilot’s performance of pre-flight inspection, equipment loading, weight & balance computations, weather briefing
  • Orients briefing for flight operations including weather, operating procedures, airport facilities, navigation aids
  • Teaches proper FAA flight plan filing and communication protocols
  • Fosters positive team attitude among flight crew, clinicians, technicians, communication specialists
  • Maintains ongoing knowledge of aviation regulations, equipment changes, company policies
  • Ensures flight logs, records, and maintenance forms are properly completed and submitted
  • Executes maintenance check flights and aircraft repositioning
  • Supports pilot training material development including presentations, manuals, curriculum guides, homework, training forms.
