Job Requirements

bachelor's degree
proven track record generating revenue for nonprofit health organizations through peer-to-peer fundraising events
minimum 4 years professional experience in nonprofit special event fundraising
experience in volunteer development and management overseeing multiple committees
proven track record securing monetary sponsorships
technology literacy skills
residency within assigned geographic territory
ability to travel regularly within the service area
ability to work evenings and weekends as required
excellent organizational and communication skills
ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
willingness and ability to work remotely
ability to handle conflict and problem solve effectively
ability to interact diplomatically and tactfully
ability to work a full-time schedule with regular attendance
ability to attend mandatory meetings and trainings
physical ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds occasionally

Job Qualifications

bachelor's degree
proven track record showing substantial growth generating revenue for nonprofit health organizations through peer-to-peer fundraising events
minimum 4 years professional experience working in nonprofit special event fundraising
previous volunteer development and management experience overseeing multiple fundraising committees with at least 2-3 committee members each
proven track record securing monetary sponsorships
must possess technology literacy skills and ability to leverage social media platforms to enhance marketing
experience working with national organizations with chapter or affiliate system (preferred)
proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, DonorDrive, Virtuous (preferred)
highly organized and detail oriented
uphold and exhibit AFSP's core values
ability to hold self and volunteer team accountable
ability to prioritize and coach volunteer team to work together to reach revenue goals
diplomatic and tactful communication skills
ability to present in front of large and small groups
excellent written and verbal communication skills
ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
ability to attend all mandatory meetings and trainings
ability to work full-time schedule with regular attendance
ability to travel as needed for meetings and events
ability to work after business hours and weekends when necessary

Job Duties

increase revenue based on agreed upon goals determined by supervisor and National Development Team
recruit, train, and manage fundraising event volunteers and committees
travel regularly within assigned service area and to annual Chapter Staff Meeting
work evenings and weekends for events and meetings with volunteers
drive diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts by ensuring all fundraising events are inclusive and accessible to diverse communities
work with Executive Director and Development Team to ensure significant growth in revenue per fundraising event
plan, manage, and execute all AFSP signature fundraising events to meet revenue goals
secure an increase in monetary sponsorships over previous year
increase number of registrants per event
utilize innovative peer-to-peer fundraising strategies to increase revenue year-over-year
train participants and team captains on how to raise money
cultivate and steward relationships with top fundraisers, team captains, and sponsor representatives
thank and acknowledge top fundraisers, team captains, sponsor representatives at event and throughout the year
work with event related vendors, municipalities, and venues
develop event budgets with supervisor and monitor expenses
communicate how dollars raised are invested in community programs, education, advocacy, and research
recruit event committee chairs and members
train committee chairs based on national manuals and tools
lead regularly scheduled committee meetings
build relationships with key volunteers to increase donations
coach volunteers on fundraising
recruit and manage day-of-event volunteers
develop volunteer recognition programs
perform other duties as assigned
