Job Description

The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization dedicated to Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. With a network of over 1,900 employees across the United States, the Association is committed to making a profound difference in the lives of those impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Their mission is to lead the way to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia by accelerating global research, enhancing risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. In 2023, the Alzheimer's Association announced an unprecedented $100 million investment in research, underscoring their commitment to advancing breakthroughs in dementia research that will shape future treatments and care.

The Alzheimer's Association fosters an inclusive and equitable environment, emphasizing health equity so that all communities have fair access to early diagnosis, risk reduction, and quality care. They engage diverse and underserved populations to address the disproportionate impact of Alzheimer’s and dementia through tailored education and resources. Recognized as a Best Place to Work for twelve consecutive years, they offer employees numerous opportunities for professional growth, competitive benefits, and a supportive, mission-driven culture.

This particular role is for the Manager of Walk to End Alzheimer’s, a pivotal position within the Association responsible for managing the implementation of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s events across Lehigh, Berks, and Schuylkill Counties in Southeastern Pennsylvania. These walk events are globally recognized as the largest fundraiser dedicated to Alzheimer’s care, support, and research, ranking as the second-largest peer-to-peer fundraising initiative in the United States and one of the fastest-growing walk events nationally.

As Manager, you will lead multiple peer-to-peer fundraising events and utilize your networking and relationship-building skills to cultivate key community connections. Your responsibilities include strategically identifying and engaging community and corporate leaders, recruiting and empowering volunteer committees, and ensuring the successful execution of events that meet or exceed revenue goals. This role requires you to generate excitement in the community, coach volunteers on best practices, and implement proven strategies to foster event growth annually.

Given the extensive travel requirements within Southeastern Pennsylvania — up to 50 percent, primarily by car with occasional overnight stays — you will be actively involved in community engagement, outreach activities, and building sustainable relationships with volunteers, sponsors, and corporate partners. You will oversee all aspects of the walks’ planning including budget management, marketing, logistics, and timeline adherence, while maintaining high standards and compliance with the Alzheimer’s Association guidelines.

This full-time exempt position is based remotely with a geographic preference for Southeastern Pennsylvania, especially Lehigh County. It offers a competitive salary range between $55,000 and $65,000, with a performance-based incentive opportunity of up to $13,000 depending on portfolio size and achievement of goals. The Manager of Walk to End Alzheimer’s reports directly to the Senior Director of Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, proven skills in volunteer recruitment and mobilization, peer-to-peer fundraising or sales experience, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media platforms. Access to a reliable vehicle, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel extensively for the role are mandatory.

By joining the Alzheimer's Association as the Manager of Walk to End Alzheimer’s, you become part of a passionate and dedicated team making a life-changing impact on millions affected by Alzheimer’s disease. This role offers an opportunity to engage with the community, lead impactful events, and contribute directly to the fight against Alzheimer’s through powerful fundraising initiatives. Your leadership will inspire volunteers and partners, drive revenue growth, and help advance the Association’s vital mission to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia.
