The Manager of Relationship Events is a full-time leadership role based in Columbus, Georgia, and is essential to the execution and success of key fundraising events, including the Dancing Stars of Columbus Gala and the Augusta Gala. Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Relationship Events, this position spearheads volunteer recruitment, management, and corporate development efforts to exceed budgeted goals through active engagement and relationship cultivation. The Manager of Relationship Events plays a pivotal role in driving volunteer and corporate engagement, managing event finances, and fostering community partnerships that support the Alzheimer’s Association’s strategic goals. This impactful role requires a driven professional experienced in gala event planning, corporate fundraising, and volunteer leadership.

Key responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of the Gala and associated activities, coaching and managing high-level volunteers to meet revenue targets, building and sustaining relationships with sponsors, donors, participants, and community leaders, and maintaining year-round engagement with key corporate partners. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with the volunteer planning committee to organize outreach activities promoting the Association’s mission, ensuring adherence to organizational standards, and supporting the growth and management of other corporate development initiatives as assigned by the Sr. Director.

The ideal candidate will have a strong record of success in special events fundraising and volunteer management, along with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Three years of proven experience in corporate fundraising and relationship building
  • Experience recruiting and mobilizing volunteers to achieve goals
  • Three years of experience in gala or special events
  • Proven success in special event fundraising or related activities
  • Strong volunteer management experience
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to learn Luminate/Convio software
  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift and transport up to 25 lbs of materials

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Three years of proven experience in corporate fundraising and relationship building, recruiting and mobilizing volunteers to achieve goals
  • Demonstrated ability to form and develop relationships and partnerships
  • Three years of experience in galas/special events required with proven success in, special event fundraising or related activities
  • Strong volunteer management experience essential
  • Goal and detailed oriented, with strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and presentation skills
  • Adaptive and flexible with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and a variety of demands
  • Ability to take initiative, and to work independently as well as in a team
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office products and social media
  • experience with, or ability to rapidly learn Luminate/Convio software

Job Duties

  • Responsible for all aspects of the Chapter's Gala and wrap around event(s)
  • Responsible for high level volunteer recruitment, training, coaching, and management resulting in the attainment of revenue and volunteer engagement goals
  • Build relationships with key volunteers, participants, sponsors and community leaders as well as existing and new corporate partners
  • Responsible for managing all financial aspects of the sponsor and donor fulfillment
  • Prospect, cultivate and steward Gala sponsors and donors to achieve development goals through volunteer networks
  • Maintain year-round relationships with key corporate sponsors, donors and volunteers to ensure involvement in all relevant chapter activities and recognition opportunities
  • Work with the volunteer planning committee to organize outreach activities that promote the Alzheimer’s Association mission, including community presentations and corporate engagement opportunities
  • Ensure Alzheimer Association’s standards are being followed
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned
  • Actively participate in learning opportunities for professional growth and self- improvement
