The company’s extensive reach includes providing licensed fumigation services at major seaports and inland locations across the United States, ensuring the safe import and export of produce, pallets, and logs. Ecolab values its associates and offers a comprehensive benefits package starting from day one of employment, including health insurance, 401k with company match, pension plans, paid parental leave, and additional support resources such as education assistance and discounted childcare.

The role of a licensed fumigation expert at Ecolab is a critical, field-based position that involves a variety of specialized duties to support effective fumigation services. The position requires physical activity and collaboration with a team of experts using cutting-edge technology and resources to perform fumigations safely and efficiently. Employees receive paid training and assistance to obtain required certifications and licenses, reflecting the company’s investment in career growth and professional development. This position offers plentiful advancement opportunities within Ecolab’s Specialty Pest Services division and across the broader organization.

Job responsibilities include assisting with all stages of the fumigation process, such as sealing, tarping, fumigant introduction, conducting fume readings, and aerating or de-gassing facilities. Operators use handheld computerized equipment to document conditions and monitor gas levels, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Effective communication with customers, adherence to OSHA guidelines, and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are integral to the role. The position demands travel, often overnight, especially during peak seasons and flexibility to work overnight shifts or be on call during off hours and weekends.

Candidates must meet specific requirements that include holding a high school diploma or equivalent, being at least 18 years of age, possessing a valid driver’s license, and being able to obtain necessary fumigation certifications, a TWIC card, and a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat endorsement. The role involves physical demands such as lifting up to 70 pounds, working in varying environmental conditions including confined spaces and extreme heights, and using respiratory protection equipment.

Ecolab emphasizes an inclusive and diverse workplace culture where all associates are treated with fairness and provided equal opportunities for advancement and success. The company complies with all federal, state, and local employment laws and promotes a safe, supportive environment. Ecolab is also committed to reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities and conducts background checks and drug testing in compliance with federal contract requirements.

Compensation for this position ranges from $37,700 to $56,600 annually, depending on experience, education, and location.
