The role of Maintenance Supervisor at InterContinental Boston is pivotal in ensuring that the hotel’s facilities are maintained to the highest standards. Job Requirements

  • Some college or advanced vocational training
  • two years of experience in general building maintenance or construction
  • ability to carry, lift, push or pull items weighing 100-300 pounds
  • frequently stand and move about facility
  • frequently handle objects and equipment
  • frequently bend, stoop, kneel, climb and crawl
  • professional certification and license if required by law

Job Qualifications

  • Some college or advanced vocational training
  • two years of experience in general building maintenance or construction
  • hotel maintenance and supervisory experience preferred
  • professional certifications or licenses as required by law
  • expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry preferred
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to read and write documentation
  • basic math and budgeting skills
  • problem-solving and organizational skills
  • ability to work nights, weekends, or holidays as needed

Job Duties

  • Inspect work assignments to ensure timely completion and adherence to specifications
  • monitor performance and recommend or initiate disciplinary actions as needed
  • perform maintenance and repair on buildings, rooms, and equipment including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and water treatment systems
  • schedule and perform preventive maintenance duties
  • enforce procedures to secure inventory and manage supplies
  • educate and train employees on safety compliance
  • prepare equipment for operational readiness
  • respond promptly and courteously to guest inquiries and requests
  • promote teamwork and quality service through coordination with other departments
  • assist with other duties as assigned
