Within this esteemed organization, Buckner Retirement Services is currently seeking a full-time Waitstaff member to join the Westminster Place community located in Longview, Texas. This role is crucial in ensuring that the community upholds Buckner's high standards of quality, service, and hospitality. As a Waitstaff at Westminster Place, you will play an essential role in all phases of service delivery, designed to meet or exceed the expectations of residents. Your primary responsibilities will include greeting guests with an upbeat and courteous attitude, demonstrating exceptional guest relation and communication skills, and ensuring that every meal experience is enhanced by your attentive hospitality. You will be expected to have extensive knowledge of the menu items, including the ability to describe featured dishes in detail to residents, and accurately take and communicate food and beverage orders to the kitchen using the point of sales system. Collaboration with kitchen and service staff is valuable, as timely serving of food and beverages is imperative.

Handling cash transactions is another critical aspect of this role, requiring you to count, balance, and maintain the cash register while processing payments accurately and protecting guest confidentiality. Strong multitasking skills and the ability to work cooperatively with other team members are essential to maintaining smooth service operations. Moreover, adherence to Buckner's specific Service Standards is mandatory to ensure consistency and excellence in every resident interaction.

Individuals interested in this position should bring proficiency in English, both verbal and written, to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and coworkers. The job demands the physical capability to move food-serving and preparation equipment and sometimes lift weights up to 50 pounds. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food service or hospitality preferred
  • Ability to move food serving and preparation equipment, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Visual acuity including depth perception and peripheral vision
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
