Gordon Food Service Store LLC, located at 2064 S Miller Pkwy, Milwaukee, WI, is a leading retail division of Gordon Food Service, which operates over 170 stores primarily supplying a wide range of customers including small food service operators, families, non-profit organizations, and caterers. The role of Van Delivery Driver at Gordon Food Service Store is vital to its mission of delivering exceptional customer service and reliable product delivery. This position requires a professional individual who can ensure courteous, on-time, and accurate delivery of products along varying daily routes. The Van Delivery Driver operates a company van adhering to strict safety protocols, conducts pre-and post-trip vehicle inspections, and assists with store operations outside of delivery hours.
This position not only involves delivery duties but also in-store responsibilities such as processing customer purchases, securing assets including cash and merchandise, accurately receiving and merchandising products with attention to quality and proper rotation, executing planograms and end-cap displays, and maintaining organized backrooms, coolers, and freezers. The successful candidate supports a customer-first culture by building and maintaining strong customer relationships and ensuring satisfaction through timely and precise deliveries.
The Van Delivery Driver role is a full-time position requiring at least one year of prior delivery driving experience as well as customer service or related experience, an unrestricted Standard Operator License, and a clean driving record free from drug or alcohol offenses in the past five years. Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years old and pass extensive pre-employment screening including drug tests, a criminal background check, and a motor vehicle report review. Physical demands include the ability to use a two-wheel cart to transport loads up to 350 pounds and lift up to 70 pounds. Job Duties
- Accurately locate and pick orders in-store for wholesale customers
- Build and maintain good customer relationships
- Keep customers happy with accurate and timely deliveries of GFS products
- Perform daily pre and post-trip inspection of vehicle and equipment
- Ensure accurate and efficient processing of customer purchases through point of sale
- Ensure security of assets including cash, checks, and merchandise by following policies and procedures
- Accurately receive and merchandise products, ensuring proper rotation and product quality
