The Store Manager Trainee program at ALDI is designed to develop passionate and driven individuals into successful store leaders. This full-time role, which requires an estimated 45 hours per week, offers a competitive starting wage of $29.50 per hour with an earning potential of up to $113,000 in the first year, inclusive of salary and bonuses when applicable. Through comprehensive hands-on training and collaboration with experienced leaders, trainees acquire the skills and knowledge needed to effectively lead a store, delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining a rewarding work environment.

Trainees will engage in extensive learning opportunities that prepare them to oversee all aspects of store operations, including personnel management, sales growth, compliance, and customer satisfaction. Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years old required
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior experience in a retail environment
  • prior management experience
  • flexibility to travel within divisional requirements for training
  • physical ability to sit, reach, grasp, stand, and move
  • ability to place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves
  • ability to operate equipment such as electric and manual hand jacks, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler
  • ability to work in varying temperatures including outdoor and refrigerator/freezer environments

Job Duties

  • Communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports to ensure desired results
  • leads and develops store personnel
  • develops and implements action plans using company provided resources to improve operating results
  • oversees the appropriate resolution of employee and customer concerns, aligning with the district manager as needed
  • interviews candidates for store positions and provides recommendations to the district manager
  • manages personnel including recommending personnel for advancement and termination as appropriate
  • communicates, cooperates, and interacts effectively with all levels of ALDI personnel, customers, third-party vendors and business partners
  • collaborates in the resolution of any issues that arise within the store to minimize potential liability
  • leads, develops, and supervises the team to develop sales, engage teams, satisfy customers and achieve consistent high performance
  • understands and oversees the execution of the overarching company strategy while communicating and modeling core values
  • fosters a positive and collaborative working environment and promotes teamwork
  • oversees and manages compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations
  • trains and develops store personnel
  • observes and evaluates employees' work performance and provides feedback
  • ensures store personnel comply with customer service guidelines
  • resolves concerns from personnel and customers independently or escalates as needed
  • models and supervises compliance with company policies and procedures
  • ensures a safe working environment by identifying hazards and maintaining equipment
  • prepares, manages and revises weekly schedules
  • ensures adherence to expense guidelines, inventory and cash handling policies
  • maintains store zone and merchandising standards
  • acts to improve operational results and achieve store KPI goals and budgets
