Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years old required
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior experience in a retail environment
  • prior management experience
  • full-time store manager trainees must be willing and able to travel to multiple locations within divisional requirements
  • ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
  • required to sit, reach, grasp, stand, and move within the store environment
  • ability to lift and place products weighing up to 45 pounds
  • ability to operate equipment such as electric and manual hand jacks, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler
  • ability to work in varying temperatures including outdoor and refrigerated/freezer environments.

Job Duties

  • Communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports to ensure desired results
  • leads and develops store personnel
  • develops and implements action plans using company provided resources to improve operating results
  • oversees the appropriate resolution of employee and customer concerns, aligning with the district manager as needed
  • interviews candidates for store positions and provides recommendations to the district manager
  • manages personnel including recommending personnel for advancement and termination as appropriate
  • communicates, cooperates, and interacts effectively with all levels of ALDI personnel, customers, third-party vendors and business partners
  • collaborates in resolution of any issues within the store to minimize potential liability
  • leads, develops, and supervises the team to develop sales, engage teams, and satisfy customers
  • understands and oversees execution of the company strategy while communicating and modeling core values
  • fosters a positive and collaborative working environment and promotes teamwork
  • oversees and manages compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations
  • trains and develops store personnel to achieve their maximum professional potential
  • observes and evaluates employees’ work performance and provides feedback and coaching
  • ensures compliance with customer service guidelines and appropriate interactions
  • resolves concerns independently or escalates to the district manager
  • models, communicates and supervises compliance with company policies
  • ensures a safe working environment by identifying hazards and maintaining equipment
  • prepares, manages, and revises weekly schedules
  • ensures adherence to expense guidelines, inventory procedures, product handling, and cash handling policies
  • ensures store maintains zone and merchandising standards
  • acts to improve operational results and implement plans to achieve store KPIs and budgets
  • attends meetings and participates in district, monthly, and training sessions
  • plans and conducts various company-related meetings and events.
