The Store Associate position at ALDI is a full-time role averaging over 30 hours per week, starting at a competitive wage of $19.00 per hour. Wage increases are structured progressively, with increases at years two through five, reaching up to $21.00 per hour. This role is critical to maintaining store operations and ensuring that customers receive excellent service during every visit. The Store Associate's responsibilities include merchandising and stocking products efficiently, operating the point-of-sale systems accurately during cashiering duties, and maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the store to uphold ALDI's standards. This position also involves working collaboratively with fellow team members to manage curbside pickup orders, assist in inventory and loss prevention efforts, and support management in operational efficiency.

Employees in this role must be physically capable of performing various tasks such as lifting products up to 45 pounds, operating equipment like pallet jacks and floor scrubbers, and working in different temperature environments including freezer and cooler sections. Emphasis is placed on safety, ergonomics, and compliance with company policies and procedures. Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years old required
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred
  • Ability to lift, carry, and place product weighing up to 45 pounds
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to operate point-of-sale (POS) systems and other store equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
  • Ability to adhere to all company policies and safety standards
  • Physical capability to perform tasks involving standing, bending, reaching, and moving throughout the store

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
  • Ability to operate all store equipment such as cash registers, floor scrubber, cardboard baler, pallet jacks, handheld devices, computers, etc
  • Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and with others
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and complete assigned tasks to maximize productivity within established timeframes

Job Duties

  • Model and fulfill all customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary
  • Inform store management of loss due to outdated or damaged products
  • Properly utilize the point-of-sale (POS) system to accurately scan and process customer purchases and inform store management of scanning concerns or errors
  • Adhere to cash policies and procedures
  • Follow the line policy and open additional check lanes as required to ensure an efficient checkout
  • Stock shelves and displays neatly while following merchandising planograms to maximize sales
  • Complete curbside pickup orders by accurately retrieving items from the store, verifying order contents, and ensuring timely delivery to customers' vehicles from the staging area
