As a Store Associate at ALDI, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the store's operational excellence and ensuring an exceptional shopping environment. This full-time role offers 30 or more hours per week with a starting wage of $17.50 per hour and planned wage increases as you gain experience, reaching up to $19.50 per hour by year five. You will be responsible for a variety of duties including merchandising and stocking products, cashiering, and cleaning to maintain the store's appearance. Your work will directly enhance each customer's shopping experience as you collaborate closely with store management and fellow team members to provide outstanding service.

In this position, attention to detail and efficiency are paramount. You will use the point-of-sale system accurately to process transactions while adhering to all cash handling protocols. Maintaining shelf standards by following merchandising planograms helps maximize sales and product visibility. You'll also assist with curbside pickup orders, ensuring items are accurately prepared and delivered promptly to customers. Supporting store safety and operational goals through proper equipment use and hazard identification is essential. Overall, this role demands physical stamina, effective communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and cooperatively within a fast-paced retail environment.

Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
  • Ability to operate store equipment such as cash registers, floor scrubber, cardboard baler, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers
  • Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic arithmetic skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete tasks within timeframes
  • Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance
  • Ability to meet availability requirements

Job Duties

  • Model and fulfill all customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary
  • Inform store management of loss due to outdated or damaged products
  • Properly utilize the point-of-sale system to accurately scan and process customer purchases and inform management of scanning concerns
  • Adhere to cash policies and procedures
  • Follow the line policy and open additional check lanes as required
  • Stock shelves and displays neatly while following merchandising planograms
  • Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving items, verifying contents, and ensuring timely delivery to customers
  • Maintain zone and merchandising standards
  • Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals
  • Comply with all company policies and processes
  • Support store safety by identifying hazards and maintaining equipment
  • Adhere to inventory procedures and product handling guidelines
  • Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards
