In this full-time role, with an average of 30 or more hours per week, and a starting wage of $18.50 per hour that increases incrementally over time, you will be entrusted with a variety of responsibilities that contribute to the smooth running of daily store operations. The position offers wage increases year over year, reflecting ALDI's commitment to employee growth and retention, with wages rising to $20.50 per hour by year five. Your primary focus will be on merchandising and stocking products to ensure that shelves are neat and fully stocked according to ALDI’s merchandising planograms, which aim to maximize sales potential. You will also be responsible for cashiering duties, including the accurate operation of the point-of-sale system to process customer transactions efficiently while adhering to cash handling procedures. In addition, you will play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall presentation of the store to provide customers with a welcoming and hygienic shopping experience.

Collaboratively working with other team members, your role will directly impact customer satisfaction as you offer prompt and courteous customer service, answering questions and resolving concerns as needed. You will also assist with curbside pickup orders, ensuring timely and accurate retrieval and delivery of customers' products. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks such as lifting items up to 45 pounds, stocking shelves at various heights, and operating equipment like floor scrubbers and pallet jacks. Your contributions will support store management in meeting operational goals and maintaining safety standards, making this a vital role within the ALDI retail environment. Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years old required
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
  • Ability to operate all store equipment such as cash registers, floor scrubber, cardboard baler, pallet jacks, handheld devices, computers, etc
  • Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and with others
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and complete assigned tasks to maximize productivity within established timeframes
  • Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance
  • Ability to meet availability requirements

Job Duties

  • Model and fulfill all customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary
  • Inform store management of loss due to outdated or damaged products
  • Properly utilize the point-of-sale (POS) system to accurately scan and process customer purchases and inform store management of scanning concerns or errors
  • Adhere to cash policies and procedures
  • Follow the line policy and open additional check lanes as required to ensure an efficient checkout
  • Stock shelves and displays neatly while following merchandising planograms to maximize sales
  • Complete curbside pickup orders by accurately retrieving items from the store, verifying order contents, and ensuring timely delivery to customers' vehicles from the staging area
