The role of Store Associate at ALDI is essential to the smooth operation of each retail location. As a Store Associate, you will be actively involved in merchandising and stocking products to ensure shelves are well-organized and visually appealing according to the store's merchandising planograms. You will also engage directly with customers at the point-of-sale, accurately processing transactions while following cash handling policies with precision. This full-time position offers an average of 30 or more hours weekly, with a competitive starting wage of $18.50 per hour, increasing progressively through the years culminating at $20.50 per hour by the fifth year. Your responsibilities will extend beyond cashiering and stocking to include maintaining cleanliness of the store, assisting with curbside pickups, and supporting store management in operational efficiency and loss prevention strategies.

Job Requirements
- At least 18 years old required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred
Job Qualifications
- Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
- Ability to operate all store equipment such as cash registers, floor scrubber, cardboard baler, pallet jacks, handheld devices, computers, etc
- Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and with others
- Ability to organize, prioritize and complete assigned tasks to maximize productivity within established timeframes
- Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance
- Ability to meet availability requirements
Job Duties
- Model and fulfill all customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary
- Inform store management of loss due to outdated or damaged products
- Properly utilize the point-of-sale (POS) system to accurately scan and process customer purchases and inform store management of scanning concerns or errors
- Adhere to cash policies and procedures
- Follow the line policy and open additional check lanes as required to ensure an efficient checkout
- Stock shelves and displays neatly while following merchandising planograms to maximize sales
- Complete curbside pickup orders by accurately retrieving items from the store, verifying order contents, and ensuring timely delivery to customers’ vehicles from the staging area
