Job Description

This job is based at Los Angeles International Airport, widely known as LAX, one of the busiest and most renowned airports in the world. LAX serves as a major gateway for both international and domestic air travel, playing a critical role in the economy of Southern California and the greater United States. The airport operates around the clock, handling millions of passengers and thousands of tons of cargo annually. Job Requirements

  • must be at least 18 years of age
  • must pass pre employment medical
  • must pass drug testing
  • must be able to speak, read and write in English proficiently
  • valid driver license in good standing
  • must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
  • work is done primarily outdoors and must be comfortable working in all weather conditions
  • must pass driver test with the Department of Airports and obtain a driver license to drive on Airport Operational Area
  • must pass FBI background check and obtain US Customs seal

Job Qualifications

  • prior ramp experience preferable
  • valid driver license
  • ability to speak, read and write English proficiently

Job Duties

  • lift and move up to 70 lbs of cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and between terminals and cargo facilities
  • frequently bend, stretch, push, pull, stack and kneel in small confined locations
  • operate motorized equipment
  • read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions
  • read and interpret hazardous material identification labels
  • read and interpret aircraft loading manifests and routing tags
  • ensure safe and secure operations complying with health, safety, security and government statutory requirements
  • perform other duties as assigned
