As the Private Chef, you will be responsible for creating daily meals that emphasize health and freshness, catering to the preferences and dietary needs of the family. Additionally, the role involves event planning and execution, from religious gatherings to fundraisers and family dinners, demanding both creativity and precision. You will collaborate weekly on menu planning and provide lunch and dinner preparations. The position also requires managing kitchen supplies, including procurement and detailed inventory maintenance, ensuring that all necessary items from groceries to specialty ingredients are fully stocked.

Maintaining high standards of sanitation and kitchen organization is a key element of the role, including the refrigeration units, pantries, and drawers, as well as post-event cleanup. Formal table setting and service skills are essential, and you will coordinate with other household staff to ensure seamless operations. Vendor and contractor management, conducting inventory, responding to special requests, errands, and occasional travel between residences are also part of your comprehensive duties.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of related experience working as private chef
  • Excellent references from current and previous employers
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A superb command of the English language, both written and oral
  • Must be hands on with good attitude, high energy, and strong work ethic
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent cooking skills with ability to prepare and serve daily meals and parties
  • Exceptional knowledge of raw, vegan or vegetarian cuisine is a plus
  • Flexible to work overtime and some weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel with principal as needed
  • Valid passport
  • Valid driver’s license is a plus
